Come on people, what don't you get? It's a basic bistro, serves generally classic, generally good-value French standards, doen't necessarily do them with huge panache by does them reliably and comfortingly.

Yesterday's set lunch really great value at £18.00 for three courses - excellent small, sweet moules marinieres, really punchy saddle of lamb stuffed with dates,

crunchy - NOT raw - green beans, proper creme brulee, small selection of ripe cheese. Butter v. good, bread so-so, somebody knows how to make an espresso.

Just over a hundred quid for three hungry adults, a six year old who ate the children's menu, two bottles of fairly priced wine (which accounted for £50.00 of the total), fizzy water and coffee - what do you want, blood?

Have eaten here many times over the last seven or eight years, always been good value, some of the comments here just reinforce my (admittedly curmudgeonly) idea that we, as a nation, don't have a scooby.

My family and I had a lovely meal at Ma Cuisine recently. We had been years ago and I was pleased to find it relatively unchanged, still serving lovely French/European dishes at fair prices. It's lovely to have wines available by the carafe as well. It was busy so I would recommend booking! Friendly staff. Our children were made to feel welcome and really enjoyed their meals. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Ma cuisine could be something really nice - but it's not.

We've been there once in the past and it was terrible but we thought we will give it a second chance. We went for lunch and the service was so slow, it took forever before our (and everyone else's) food arrived. The green beans were raw, the mashed peas tasted horribly wrong, the jus was overpowering. The people at the neighbour table got served raw potatoes. My desert was profiteroles, they tasted old and the chocolate sauce not like chocolate at all.

The worst thing, and I only saw that at the end of the meal: the bottoms of plates were dirty, greasy - really filthy.
