The Little Star...
to be fair their Tiger island is legendary. Its all I have ever had when able to visit and all I talk about when I refer friends to little star.
I am surprised to see any complaints about this quaint little restaurant. The service was always good and I always enjoyed my tiger island. The quality vs quantity vs price is very favourable.
i'll always go back to little star for my tiger island. there is nowhere else that does anything quite the same.

The Food in the Little Star is consistently Brilliant!
We regularly started going in there for its 2 Courses for £7.50 deal,
Upon entry they seat you and give you a bowl of olives with some really fresh bread to keep you going whilst you wait.
We have been through every single dish on their starters and they are all amazing, from the honey and mustard chicken wings to the potato skins they are all really nice. The Mains are all exceptional as well, we most recently had the Monks fish involved in the deal which has a sauce in there they used to use on chicken, kind of tomato'y not sure whats it in but it is very very nice!
Being from the seaside I know good quality fish when I taste it when its freshly cooked and the Monkfish was amazing, not one single bone filleted to perfection and so very fresh!
The deals they had has encouraged us to venture onto their mains;
which include a whole host of reasonably priced Steaks or Lamb and are exceptional in their own right! (we've been eating here almost twice a week now!! ha!)
This place is on the same Par as Hugo's in Queens Park, Lemonia's in Primrose Hill, and the Temple Fortune 'Delisserie' New York Jewish deli style Restaurant. If you like any of these, you will like The Little Star Guaranteed! (and the value for money is exceptional!!!)

Living so close by I wished this place would be good but it was soooo bad!
Walking into the restaurant the atmosphere is lovely, intimate and feels like you are in a little taverna on your holidays. The waiter who served us was lovely and really friendly, it was all going so right until the food came.
The food was so bad it was inedible. I ordered a special of the day which was black risotto and the squid in it was like elastic bands. My partner had chicken wings which were served in so much sauce it was like a soup. Our portion of 'potato skins' were literally deep fried potato chippings that were obviously left overs after peeling a load of potatoes! Too greasy to eat. We sent this all back hardly touched.
Our mains didn't improve my pan-fried italian sausage with veg and potatoes was swimming in oil and greasy bits from the pan, the sausage was a cumberland ring! My partners simple to make Arrabiata pasta dish was again, half a dish of oil, both dishes were so oily we left them.
Most important thing to note was all dishes that came out had been microwaved to within an inch of their life!
The girl on the table next to us ordered a steak. When it arrived it was covered in a sauce which once she scraped it off did not do a good job in hiding the fact the steak was so burnt it was black! If people in the kitchen have such low standards to send out a steak in that condition you wonder what else goes on in the kitchen!
We explained all to the waiter who took our comments on board and we only paid for our wine and left extremely disappointed.

Nice but relaxed, friendly service, low prices, and tasty food. I'm becoming a regular at Little Star as it is reliably a good experience.

Having read the influx of positive reviews for The Little Star, we decided to visit the restaurant on April 7. The restaurant is lovely inside and the staff are very good. It's just the food which let it down. I chose the tomato and basil soup as a starter and a tuna steak in chilli butter for a main, both from the set menu of £6.95 - potentially very good value. The soup was very nice, but when the tuna arrived it was swimming in butter which made all the potatoes soggy, which was a bit of a blessing as they were slightly raw in the middle. The tuna itself was pretty chewy and I couldn't really taste any of the chilli. I'd ordered a side of vegetables, which consisted of carrots, courgettes and green beans - the carrots were fine, but the courgettes soggy and green beans wrinkled; I think these must have been heated in the microwave. I really didn't enjoy my main course at all. I'm not a fussy eater, but I do have standards and sadly they weren't met. My partner started with fried squid rings, which were very chewy and quite disappointing, but on the plus side his steak and chips were lovely. However, although I'm all for supporting local business, I don't think we'll be returning here again.

Friendly staff, great food, great atmosphere.
I am a regular customer of Little Star and the food is always amazing. Being on a budget I often go for their 2 courses for £6.85. It is great value for money. House wine is also very good. I often take my visitors to this restaurant and it has been a success every time.

This is the main restaurant of choice with my friends for birthday and holy day outings, and to meet family. The large table in the back room is ideal for groups of up to 10.
Good food, varied menu, good value, good house wines, and a range of teas and coffees. Excellent and friendly service.
Good location for local buses and the Jubilee line; free on street parking, or pay and display during restricted hours.
