Lakorn Thai

Without doubt the worst Thai restaurant I have ever visited.
The "panang curry" tasted nothing like the real thing; it was watery, red and spicy.
An insult to authentic Thai cuisine. And when we asked about the Kaffir leaves in the Kaffir beef dish, the waitress had the cheek to explain that the leaves had been ground into powder! Never mind that the dish was tasteless, let alone tasted of Kaffir lime leaves.
If you go to any of the great shows at Sadler's Wells, don't ruin your evening (like I did) by going to this disgraceful restaurant.

Horrible food! First of all, they don’t serve Thai food. The waitresses were Chinese and the menu didn’t look like authentic Thai food. The food was neither Thai nor Chinese. I will never go back to the place again and I won’t recommend anyone to go to there.

The food was cheap - that is the only positive thing. The curry and the stir fry both tasted as though they had used pre-cooked chicken. The chicken with cashew nut and chilli was a disgrace - it contained amongst other things, the pretty horrible reheated chicken plus carrots, large chucks of almost raw onion plus capsicums and mushrooms. There was one piece of dried chilli in evidence and a few cashew nuts - but this is simply not Thai food. Bland but salty with nothing going for it.
The staff were friendly - but the waiting staff were contantly coughing - not that encouraging in terms of hygiene.
We also had a green papaya salad - this again seemed to involve the popular Thai vegetable - the carrot.
The red chicken curry was horrible - again tasted like pre-cooked chicken in a bit of coconut milk wih a dollop of shop bought curry paste chucked in.
This will be our first and last visit. It is a real shame that there are so many restaurants masquerading as Thai but serving poorly prepared, food with little in the way of authenticity.
I had Thai curry in my office canteen today - it was much, much better.
