Not saure if Kokos (review below) went to the same place as the rest of us. I've been going for years and am always very happy with the food and experience.
I don't go out for Indian food very often as it very rarely compares to decent home cooked traditional Indian food but this place is the exception.
Gping again tonight, am sure it will be as good as ever.

I'm sorry to say that these reviews which have been written below must of been by people without taste buds or by the owners. Where do I start? I always order 3 main courses for 2 people to have a variety of food. I am a qualified chef and I have a great sense of smell, vision and taste, nothing escapes me.
We ordered a Murgh Nilgiri (chicken with green chillies). This was supposed to be spicy and was not, the chicken pieces were swimming in a watery green sauce, no taste whatsoever - dustbin!
We ordered a Mix Grill. This had a chicken piece which was ordinary, a minced meat on a skewer, tasteless, and a King Prawn which didn't smell fresh, again straight to the bin.
We ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala swimming in a watery red sauce again which was tasteless.
We ordered a mushroom rice, rice was overcooked and selled from too much water and believe it or not, tasteless and mushy.
The only thing eadible was thew Naan bread.

We live locally and on the rare occasion we get a babysitter and manage to go out, we often come here.
The food is definitely several notches above your regular Indian. Also on the v. rare occasion we order a take-out, it is always from Bombay Spice.
I am an obsessive foodie (as my family will tell you!) and cook Indian meals at home, and have travelled extensively across India, so I don't tend to visit Indian restaurants in the UK unless I know I am getting something close to the real thing. I can recommend the food here without a doubt.
I think the service can be a litle slow sometimes, but I think they have improved since the reviews dating back to 2005.
Our last visit a couple of weeks ago was very efficient and very friendly.
The decor is not your run- of-mill flock wall-paper and banquet seats as often seen in Indian restaurants. It veers on the modern side so feels nicer for a special occasion.

We have just been to the Bombay Spice after looking at the reviews on this site. I have to say that the experience was amazing, and thanks for all your genuine reviews and recommendations.
This is very different Indian restaurant comparing to the ones I have been before. The food was very good and tasty, I don't think you could have the same even you are in India. The waitor wasn't pushy, the atmosphere was very nice for a quiet evening.
More importantly, the portions were big, it is good value for money. We had three courses and only over £20 per person. I will definitely go back soon.

This is a cut above the 'normal' indian restaurant in the area. It is not the sort of place where you can pile in drunk after the pub closes. The food is generally superb but the chef does have a tendency to cover everything in butter, particularly the nan breads. The service is excellent.

This restaurant has been established for a few years and of every restaurant I know I can honestly say I am always so happy to keep coming back. The food is simply a higher standard than other Indian restaurants I have experienced – the menu has been so well thought out it would stand head and shoulders above other restaurants in Islington.
The service, decor and the chilled back ambience are great and all make it to be such a lovely place. There are too dishes to recommend, but you can't go wrong with the Chefs specials.
I just hope the people of Palmers Green can hold onto this amazing restaurant.

I ate here about 4 years and thought the food was delicious. However, we went there for a friend's birthday last weekend and I wasn't impressed with the service - luckily the food did make up for it! OK, there was a large group of us but we can't be the first to visit in a group of 18. Arrived at 8.15pm and took nearly half an hour before they took our drinks order. Only one person chose a starter and yet we did not receive our main courses until 10pm!! They chose the amount of rice for the table which needless to say was over ordered. Disappointing but assume is best in smaller groups.

My husband and I visit this place regularly and it has always been of great standard! The food is very tasty, the staff friendly and very good value for money. My mother is indian and a fab cook of all types of indian food - therefore I am speaking from experience! Definately worth a visit!

Consistently outstanding. Now the 3rd place winner of the House Of Commons "Tiffin Club" award for most authentic Indian restaurant in the UK. Spotlessly clean, big portions and great value.
