Bombay Spice

Bombay Spice is consistently good - proper Indian food, not the usual British curry-house stuff. I've never been disappointed - and the extra dishes you get are a delight. Having been to India, I can vouch for the authenticity of the food, the Mahkani Dhal is excellent.

We stumbled across Bombay Spice by accident and regret not finding it sooner.

This is simply the best curry house ever. Forget your stereotypical curry house with the same old chicken tikkas etc, this is proper Indian food.

The dishes are unusual but the best tasting around.

The first time we came here the manager took our order and then advised us to take away a couple of dishes as we had ordered too much. He could have easily let us continue and made more money out of us.

We eat here at least once a week because it really is worth it.

Also, there is a dal and potato dish free of charge.

If you really like curry, try this place.

I eat here regularly. There have been some negative reviews on this site and I do wonder if that's because it isn't your usual tandoori style restaurant. My experiences here have been consistently good.

Waiters are friendly and happy to advise. The reviewer who said the waiters added on extra food obviously didn't realise that you always get the house vegetable dishes on the side.

The food served here is closer to what you will find in an Indian home, rather than the bengali style food of most tandoori restaurants. I personally do not find the food overly salty and think that the spicing is just right. It doesn't blow your head off but isn't underspiced either.

All in all in my opinion a very good restaurant which I will continue to visit.
