We had a quick midweek meal here and it was absolutely excellent. Loved the warm bread and tomato dip you get when you are seated. Don't fill up on it though because the portions are very generous! We actually shared a chicken shish and some hummus and it was lovely. The chicken was so flavourful and tender and came with lots of fresh salad and buttery rice. Their wine by the glass is reasonably priced and very palatable. A great find in N4!

Every neighbourhood should have a local restaurant like Petek. It was the only eatery on Stroud Green Road that was packed to the rafters on a wet Saturday night, so booking is highly recommended. It doesn't look that exciting from outside, but inside it's dimly lit and almost romantic with all the candles and lanterns.

The complimentary warm bread and crushed tomato and chilli dip are delicious, as were our spiced koftes and hummus. Our grilled mains (chicken shish and a mixed shish) were smoky and tender, served with a generous green salad, yoghurt dip and lovely buttery rice studded with almonds. Portions are on the large side so order carefully.

Our bill (for two) came to £43 including service, which is a bargain in my book. There are great value set menus and lunch deals too. Will definitely be back.

The food is amazing and more than just standard Turkish fare (which is absolutely delicious) -- the menu regularly includes grilled seabass and other fish, as well as more unusual Turkish specialities. The wine list is great and includes a couple of nice Turkish reds that are super cheap and go very nicely with the food. You are welcomed with delicious bread and yummy tomato and pear salsa and olives. After that, things just get better and better. Every time. I am local and we eat there or take away once a weak. It is probably the best restaurant on Stroud Green Road.

Had mixed shish and was not disappointed. Succulent chicken and lamb, plus fresh salad, with yummy bread.

Service was attentive, and they were v accommodating with our numerous & various requests (eg extra sauce, tap water, napkins).

Plenty surprised with the inner deco too- lovely atmosphere with all those lamps & tiles.

Was about £16 per person (beer, starter & mains). Definitely would recommend this place.
