Yesterday we went for a meal to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Quite simply the food was *amazing* and the wine list spectacular. Most importantly the service was friendly, attentive, genuine and professional. This is a blessed place! Allez tout de suite!

This is a restaurant that thinks a lot of itself, and charges accordingly. The environment in the garden room is rather precious, with a profusion of fake blossom, but nice enough in the fading light of a summer evening. The wine list is deeply intimidating, both in appearance - a vast plastic ring-bound dossier with about twenty different vintages of Chateau Mouton Rothschild alone - and pricing. Not much here under £40. The food is good certainly, especially the pressed rabbit starter, and the suckling pig with little nutty dumplings is out of this wordl The desserts, such as a warm chocolate brownie and a strawberry tart, are, again, nice enough, but not totally fabulous. Numerous waiters hover constantly, and this is one of those places where your bottle of wine is whisked away so that you are never trusted to fill your own glass. If you want to impress somebody who doesn't get out a lot, this would do the trick. But for me, it was all trying rather too hard.

We went for my brothers 30th birthday and we got a table in the conservatory. Service was lovely and accomodating, we switched tables at the last minute. The portions were small but the food was very rich and I don't think I could have eaten more than that. They didn't flinch at giving us tap water and were very happy to make recs from the cheaper end of the wine list. All in all I thought the food was great (we ate from the set menu) but the atmosphere is very coupley and quiet so maybe best saved for romantic occasions rather than celebrations.

Beautiful spot, with excellent service and a very good food. The food is delicious. The only downside is the limited choice menu and the wine list is a bit intimidating. The ambiance is lovely and the waiters very attentive. The place is not cheap, but definitely worth it. Would recommend to anyone who likes good food.

Clos Maggiore is magical. The decor and ambiance needs to be experienced to fully appreciate what it feels like to dine in a restaurant that `gets it right'. And Clos Maggiore does!

From the moment that you cross their threshold you will find that you are treated as a valued guest. The staff are obviously trained to a high standard and know just what they need to do to ensure that your visit is all that you would wish it to be. The menu offers a tantalising choice - so wide and varied that the biggest challenge is choosing your choice of meal within a reasonable amount of time. But the staff understand this. You will be served firstly with your choice of pre-dinner drink whilst you attempt to make up your mind as to what to order. You will be advised (if that is what you want to be) by informed and genuinely interested staff.

Clos Maggiore is the ideal venue for: a romantic evening, a business dinner (just lisen to the conversations around you - they could result in you changing your investments) or a'girly night out'. Whatever the reason for you being there, you will have made the right choice. Clos Maggiore continues to twinkle and I don't just mean the romantic ceiling lights.

Went to Clos Maggiore for my birthday. From the moment we arrived til we left it was truly a very special evening. The staff where attentive without being overbearing, they seems to be there right when you need them and seem to have a sixth sense when you want some privacy. And the venue is absolutely stunning!

The food was nothing short of amazing (especially the wild mushroom open lasagna) and a wine list to make the biggest wine buff happy (a heavy ring binder displaying nearly 100 pages of wines), though as myself and my partner, while appreciate wine, know nothing about it and opted to have a glass of the recommended wines with our respective meals, which proved a much better idea since we got to try and variety of wines with different courses.

Went to Clos Maggiore in celebration of an anniversary tonight. Despite it being a Sunday evening, the restaurant was full, and the staff fully attuned. The food was faultless, no attempt was made by the excellent waiting staff to cajole us into ordering anything more than we wanted, and the sommelier knows his staff. A memorable evening for the couple, who have vowed to return when they are next on these shores.

It was my mum's 50th birthday and I wanted to treat my family of 4 to a meal in a really special restaurant. We were treated so well from the moment we stepped into the restaurant and made to feel very comfortable and relaxed (my family were a little nervous, as they're not used to such grand places!). The food was wonderful. My dad is vegetarian and often has to watch us tuck to a flavoursome treat whilst he has to makedo with boring risotto or dried out old goatscheese, but he actually remarked that this was probably the best meal he'd ever had! The winelist was fantastic and provided some entertainment, especially the Rothschild £3900 bottle! (we went for a very palatable £50 merlot) Overall it was a wonderful evening, and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone who fancies treating themselves.

I went for the first time to Clos Maggiore one week ago. I haven't been disappointed. This restaurant is very nice and the food was excellent.

The waiters (all french) know their stuff and the duck meal that was recommended by one of them was really delicious. The wine card is also very impressive.

The prices are ok considering the qualiy of the food.

A very good address I would recommend to anyone who enjoys good food.

Consistently excellent restaurant. I have now been three or four times, and never cease to be impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the food and wine. Most recently I went on a Sunday evening, and there was a menu prix fixe at £19.50 - an absolute bargain, particularly when in the past I have eaten a la carte at £140 for two! Worth every penny, though, particularly if you are seated in the conservatory.
