** DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY **
Avoid at ALL costs unless you are happy with a Starter of Sarcasm & Mains of Disrespect with a Side of Arogance. All of which will arrive late. Service is the worst I have experienced and food is well overpriced.

Shocking! Shocking! Shocking!
This has to be the most unpleasant experience i have experienced in a restaurant. The staff, and when i say staff, i must point out their was only a French Chap serving (i have no idea if he was the owner or a employee) and no other staff visible thankfully as if they were all as rude and ignorant as this man, then there is no hope for this little eatery what so ever.
I still cant believe how bad the service was and i feel so incensed by this i have felt the need to voice my disgust and write this review.
The Chap serving us and taking our Order was instantly uninviting, however we decided to stay and enjoy the breakfast we were looking forward to.
My Girlfriend had specifically chosen this restaurant as she wanted to have the eggs Benedict, so that's what she ordered.
We didn't have to wait too long before our breakfast arrived, however when it did, it wasn't what my girlfriend had ordered, so she mentioned this to the French Chap serving.
Instead of being apologetic, this Rude French guy decided to shout quite aggressively towards my girlfriend insisting that was what she ordered, and continued for a few minutes before offering to change the order to what she had originally asked for.
Now while this was all going on, i was still waiting for the toast and the coffee that was to come with my breakfast, however this chap decided to go outside and have a sit down and a fag, totally forgetting my order. When he came back in he realised he had forgotten the toast and went to get it, not before muttering that he had got all confused after the problem with the original order. He also delivered my girlfriends breakfast, this time the right order arrived so I thought it was a good time to ask for the coffee that was part of the menu i ordered. This chap aggressively told me i had not requested the coffee, even though it was part of the menu, so i requested the coffee there and then, so he begrudgingly went to get me a coffee.
After all of this, I asked for the bill, but had to query the bill as it did not add up again the chap was aggressive in his answer pointing out that the bill was correct and threw a menu at me to check the prices. Now lets just say at this point my patience had been totally tested and i was ready to blow my top, however my girlfriend requested me to leave without making a fuss.
The best bit, which did make me laugh was that he had the audacity to put a service charge on, although only a couple of pounds, we begrudgingly paid this in order to vacate the premises.
This guy is extremely lucky I was persuaded to leave the premises without causing a huge fuss and i can assure you if i had i not been with my young lady, he wouldn't have been so lucky!
I recommend you refrain from visiting this establishment and chose another that welcomes and values their customers as well as offering a service that is acceptable.
Overall, shocking service, rude staff and overpriced!

Fantastic restaurant - a good experience every time, they have a great bar menu too. Perfectly cooked burgers and mixed grills, and the staff are wonderful - so nice to be served French food by genuine French staff!
I arranged a large booking here not long ago and the manager was very accommodating - the profiteroles were amazing!
Cannot recommend highly enough!

Can't believe the reviews below - this place is just great. Delicious French food served by charming French staff - it genuinely feels like a little neighbourhood bistro in Paris, with strange French pop on the stereo, excellent wine and fresh food, well cooked.
This is a great place to spend an evening with friends, relaxing over a meal, or just enjoying a quick lunch or coffee. Do give it a try.

i find it uncomfortable reading this review! i have eaten many times at le pots, from the bar and the restaurant, it is a lovely little place, its relaxed and friendly. i dined the other night at le pots and it was a little colder than usual, however the management had explaned a problem with the heating straight away and were very apologetic, and this can happen, i feel this is not a representation of the restaurant as sometimes things happen that are not in your control, however they had filled the restaurant with portable heaters and even blankets!
and the food is always delicious! if you order any kind of meat the waiter will recomend how it is best cooked, so i find it hard to believe that a steak could be cooked that far as to resemble cotton! (unless requested to be that well done) they just wouldnt do it, i have been advised for my steak to be cooked no more than medium, and it was explaned why too! so you can really appreciate the meat! the staff are really nice in here, i think that if you 'realy like youself, then you should come here'! le pot lyonnais is a lovely place in the day for a coffee, lunch or a delicious evening meal. you wont be disappointed!

I had the gross misfortune of dining here last night in celebration of a family birthday. As we entered and took our seats we turned to oneanother and commented on the coldness of the room. We asked for the heating to be turned up on two occasions, a request which was eventually grudgingly met by the manager. I and three others at the table ordered steak frites (usually my favourite dish) with foie gras for starters. I didnt know where to look when the tiny caramelized portion of foie gras turned up, accompanied by some fairly pretentious dribbles of 'jus' It tasted much as I'd imagine dog food to, with a revolting cloying texture. I was prepared to overlook this at this point, however, but one of our party wrapped the entire thing in a handkerchief to throw away. My brothers onion soup had a broad strata of oil about an inch deep across the top. The onions in the soup were undercooked and acid tasting. Sugar had clearly been added to counteract this, resulting in a revolting mess.
After the dishes were cleared, we endured a twenty minute wait for the main course. Drinks were delivered painfully slowly too, odd for a restaurant that appeared to only have four tables occupied. The table next to us also sent back a cold steak as we waited for ours.
The main course eventually arrived delivered in a characteristically surly fashion. I tucked in, eagerly anticipating a textured juicy steak with bearnaise sauce. I was met with a texture that resembled cotton wool, dry and awful. It tasted as if the steak had been frozen at some point. After one mouthful, I decided to give the steak a miss- something I have never done in my life. I would say the chips were sub Mc donalds standard, actually grossly unfair, they were sub Mc Cains microwave standard, wooden flavourless, and dry. The steaks went back to the kitchen largely uneaten. The bearnaise sauce tasted like it had come from a sachet, awful. My sisters mussels also remained largely uneaten too, and duly sent back.
By this point we'd made the decision that this establishment was a dead loss, so decided not to dare with dessert or coffee. I made contact with the manager discreetly away from the table and told him in a very measured respectful tone that the food and service were not satisfactory. I didnt want to make a big fuss as this was a family occasion, and it really is not in my nature to complain, but I thought that as the manger he might want to know that his business was not up to scratch in this repect. I was met with a barrage of questioning as to why I didnt enjoy it in a pretty aggressive fashion. I didnt seem to be enough for the manager that no-one at the table enjoyed their food, and I was made to feel as if it was in some way my fault that the food was so poor. The managers attitude was extraordinary, he kept repeating that he has many customers and that the food was fine, so it was essentially my problem.
Eventually he returned to the table, across the virtually empty restaurant and had subtracted service from the bill along with one steak, despite the plates piled with uneaten food. The bill still came to over 160GBP for the 6 of us.We were made to feel unwelcome and unwanted by the manager. What a relief to be out of there!
All in all, a supremely depressing experience. Lazy, conceited and just embarrassing. This was nothing like any of the fine french restaurants Ive dined in over the last 30 years, more of a parody. It was a pale facsimilie of a restaurant, with no atmosphere, very poor food, dire service and complete disrespect for their customers. If you really hate yourself, I'd highly recommend this place.
