Lovely food - excellent pizzas - but let down by the shoddy, inattentive and totally unprofessional service. The (very young) staff were more interested in talking to each other and we were served by about 6 different waiters and waitresses in succession, none of whom seemed to know what they were doing. The exception was the older lady who (finally) took our bill at the end of lunch; she was charming and efficient whilst being friendly. She is sadly let down by the others!

We ended a team event with dinner at the Fetter Lane branch. Looked nice from the outside but to be honest the food was very disapointing, it was really very, very poor! I have never been to an Italian Restaurant that does not have Pizza on the menu or a choice of vegetarian food. I requested some Pasta Arrabiatta sauce with spices, garlic and chilli, I got spaghetti that tasted bland as cardboard, the chef should be ashamed of himself, I think my home made pasta from a jar of sauce is so much better and enjoyable and edible. I requested some Bruchetta and it looked like an accident and tasted bad. Yuck!

We booked this resturaunt 3 months in advance knowing that that New Years Eve is always busy in London.

When we arrived our table wasnt ready and we were stuck in a corner to look at a menu. After about 7-8 minutes we were taken to our table stuck in the middle of two groups with not much room for manouvre.

When we finally got ot order we opted for a starter and main.

On the arrival of the starter I was shocked at the standard of the food we were being offered at the price they expected us to pay. We ordered bruschetta which was meant to be toasted (it wasnt) covered in warm plumb tomatoes (they were cold regular tomatoes) and topped with delicious warm creamy mozzarella (it wasnt, more cold and rubbery)

After brining our concerns to the attention of the management, I expected them to pull out the stopps for the main course, funnilly enough they didnt.

I'll not put you through the pain of the main course but let's just sat that the chicken breast looked and tasted as if an elephant had sat on is for a week and the carbonara was about the quality you would get from a ready meal.

In addition the ladies toilets were out of use until my wife pointed out they were both blocked.

The staff were rude, especially the waiteress who mocking other diners who had previously complained. The exception was the manageress who looked as if she was at the end of her tether.

To top it all when the bill arrived they had the cheek to add a service 12.5% service charge (which I didnt pay).

Very Dissapointing

My family came from the same little village as the Bertorellis, I've eaten there a few times, being part Italian I rarely go to Italian restaurants we preffer home cooked Italian food.

I make the excepetion for Bertorellis as the food is great! if you want the taste of real authentic Parma/ north Italian food, with a few modern dishes, you won't go wrong with Bertorellis..
