The quality of food and warm armosphere really do make this restaurant a place to go to. The owner is very welcoming and the food is delicious and adorable. Definitely recommend Moorish Lounge to everyone - Moroccan cuisine at its best!

The Moorish Lounge was a place I discovered a couple of years ago and had walked past it a number of times. One day I decided to look at the menu and knew I had to go there. I was certainly never disappointed. The place was welcoming, warm, and very friendly. The food is exceptional and entirely hand cooked from scratch by the owner. The decor is typically Moroccan and it feels as though you are entering into the home of the proprietor who then looks after you beautifully. If you are coming in in a busy night, take note that you will likely have to wait a while for your food as each individual dish is hand cooked but relax and enjoy the atmosphere because the wait is without question worth the while. And the prices are more than reasonable for the quality of food as well. What more could you ask for?
Sadly I am not often in Streatham/Norbury these days but when I am, I make a point of coming here and am never disappointed.

Lamb tagine tastes divine.. Good morrocan feel to the place. Fantastic food but expect a long wait for the freshly cooked meals, it's often a one man army restaurant...
Well priced & worth the wait.

I am reluctant to write this review because the Moorish Lounge is small and I always want to be sure of getting a table! This restaurant is a joy. Once inside you could be in the Argarna overlooking the Fna in Marracech. Ignore other reviews talking about the service, which is very Moroccan, the food is spectacular. When taking a friend their recently, I offered the suggestion that this was the best food we had had since Morocco...on reflection, we agreed it was better. Try the Marrakech Tagine...to die for!

I've lived in Norbury for 22 years now and have only recently found this gem of a restaurant, undoubtedly the best Moroccan cuisine i have ever had! Yes the best Moroccan cuisine full stop. I come to this restaurant at least twice a week and it is as if I have entered a different country, the decor is set as a traditional moroccan house with mosaic tiling and extremely comfortable sofas the atmosphere is something which is rarely found in the UK, the food is exceptional and very good value for money, my personal favorites are the lamb tagine and the seafood platter, the food is of extremely high quality and the chef is a very kind and helpful person always giving us a high level of service. I could not recommend this place enough. To anyone reading, you must try this place to understand what it is really about.
