small and unpretencious little restaurant. i came with a group of friends and the service was speedy even if there were other people in the restaurant. according to all of us the food was good. when i was looking round people were normally having pho.. i ate a while ago i do not remember what i was having.. mains are better than starters... but overall a good experience...

In my opinion, this is one of the better Vietnamese places in town. The food is good, the pho well-flavoured with plenty of meat and the fresh condiments to add. I've never had bad or rude service - I'd call it occasionally brusque, which I think is fine for this style of cheap eatery.

There aren't many Vietnamese places in Soho / Chinatown, so this place is a lot more popular than it deserves to be.

Special pho was unremarkable but not bad. The grilled pork buon forgettable but the accompanying sauce had a good tang. Spring rolls were crisp.

However, I agree with other reviewers about the service. In particular the woman with dollar signs in her eyes is terrible. Curt, rude, and thinks she can do anything to squeeze another diner in.

While you'd expect that in some Chinese roast meat diners we didn't think it was acceptable in a restaurant like this, and at these prices. They've become too used to the lunchtime crowds. Try one of the many Chinese / Japanese places nearby. Or Nam.

Lovely, authentic Vietnamese food; LOUSY service. It took over an hour and a half to get all our mains to us, and even at the very end (when half the table had long finished) they came over to ask (TWICE) what the remainder were having. Absolutely clueless. I would eat there again but I'd be mentally prepared this time for zero service - and the fact that it's noisy, cramped and loud. So, really it's just about the food.

I just had a takeaway prawn pho, and it was delicious. The stock was not very robust but was very well flavoured, fragrant and delicious. The noodles were fine, prawns were OK, and the fresh garnish pack they included (beansprouts, Thai basil, chili, lime) worked really well. It's proper food, i.e., not processed, artificial, mass-made rubbish. It was really delicious and colleagues and I will definitely be making this a staple.

As a takeaway, we were served promptly, and did not wait long. I specified no coriander in mine, and it was done so, with 'no coriander' written on the lid.

A Rather Unusual Chinaman

A Rather Unusual Chinaman

Wednesday, July 06, 2011 - First a big mouthful of vermicelli noodles, mopping up the fish sauce, strands of chopped salad adding bite and keeping it fresh, pickled carrots and radish delivering a sharp zing to liven up the tastebuds, only then to crunch on some deep fried onions flooding your mouth with sweetness. The beef itself was delicately wrapped in the leaves like little beefy spring rolls, and each bite was savoury and meaty. Cat's pork was equally delicious...Viet serves great, honest Vietnamese food with no airs and no graces.

Cheap Eats In London

Cheap Eats In London

Thursday, July 16, 2009 - The Pho stock is still a bit weak, but quite fragrant and the fresh chilli in the generous herb salad garnish gives it added bite and body...My friend had the Bun Thit Nuong which is quite a popular street food and comprises of grilled pork on a bed of cold noodles and crunchy salad. After sneaking food from her plate, I thought it was a pretty good attempt. The pork was smoky and caremalised and was nicely balanced with the (overly) sweet crunchy salad and noodles...As far as Vietnamese food goes, it's definitely the best you're going to get round there and that's not supposed to be uncomplementary.
