Nancy Lam's Enak Enak

Either I am going bonkers or the last few reviewers went to a different restaurant altogether! I mean, c'mon, the dishes may not be served in gigantic portion but you get what you order, e.g. curries without all the chunky vegs to make it look HUGE. As for the wine list being, ahem, overpriced?? Last time I checked, a bottle of Bollinger NV is £40 at Nancy's lovely restaurant (which costs £30+ at my local Waitrose), for example! Go figure! Stop whining and enjoy the good food!

Tasty dishes but horribly overpriced and mean portions. The wine's also a complete rip-off. I wouldn't go here again unless someone else was footing the bill...

Given the reputation of both the owner and restaurant as well as the prospect of sampling Indonesian cuisine, we had mixed feelings about our experience here.
The quality and tastes of the food cannot be faulted - we had chicken satay for starter followed by the beef randan and a delicious prawn curry. Wine list was decent, although interestingly all French.
The bad points were as follows: as most reviews comment, the portions really are tiny for the price and certainly we left satisfied with the taste but still hungry I'm afraid!
Also, the desserts were very disappointing - both the banana fritters and the coconut stuffed pancakes looked very sad when they arrived and once again, portions were minimal. That said, we were delighted with our lemongrass/honey drink afterwards which was very refreshing.
In summary, a lovely restaurant, good waiting staff (although very busy), good quality food but I'm afraid Nancy will have to raise her game with the portions if she's going to charge those prices - it could be so good!

The starter of mixed satay was delicious. The green chicken curry was delicious, fresh and fragrant but the portion was tiny, the deep fried squid batter was a bit oily.
The service was friendly but Nancy was in the corner looking pretty grumpy.
Its good but over priced, I trekked half way across London for this meal and i certainly wont do it again unless she makes it cheaper or the portions bigger!
.......Nearly stopped off at another restaurant on the way home!

I have to agree with some of the other reviews -- really good food but tiny portions and it is expensive for what you get. Nancy will tell you that it is because it is such good quality etc etc but the Nasi Goreng was way over priced and not great either. The prices/portions need to be adjusted here!

Food was ok but very small portions for the prices, service was not bad. Shame she did not come up to greet us like it says on all these reviews. We were put at a rubbish cramped table. Waiters didn't seem to know what they were doing. I have been here before and I can definatly say this...I will not be coming back again!

A great little restaurant close to Queenstown Road. I went in a party of 10 on a Saturday night and Nancy was milling around being as direct and forthright as her public persona. The food and atmosphere were excellent - a friend had something like 'spitting beef', which arrived spitting hot and was delicious. Everyone seemed happy with their choices.
I'd definitely recommend a visit to anyone. Price came to £30 a head, which included two bottles of wine and about 10 bottles of beer amongst the 10 diners.

I spent the evening of my 40th birthday at Enak Enak. I was greeted by Nancy & her beautiful daughters. The food was superb, & the dessert was dreamy! Nancy kept the whole restaurant entertained, but when it was time to go, she invited my sister & I to join her for cocktails, which we did. We spent quality time together & I swear I knew this lady in a past life. She is SOOOO funny, with a heart of gold. She made my birthday totally unforgettable & I am still talking about the delicious meal a year later. I will definately be back. I LOVE this restaurant & Nancy - you're the best!
