I've had bad experiences in some places all over the world but none of them can compare to the one that I had here- simply humiliating! When I entered the place no one welcomed and showed me where to sit so I assumed that like some other buffets it's a common practice to simply choose what I want and pay at the end when I leave. Only two minutes after I started eating a waiter came looking at my plate ironically and asked me 'who allowed you to sit here' ? I was very disappointed from the customer service so I decided to leave , the manager started screaming at me in front of all other customers and he treated me like a criminal when I said I cannot pay for food I didn't eat, but I was forced to pay 11 pounds for nothing and be humiliated. If I was in USA I would definitely bring the to court! They don't deserve to be in the customer service business !

why are people giving it low stars for?!
Ignore those people because I dont think they realize what a BUFFET is.
The food compared to other well known chinese is a very good standard and I loved it. Great for with your mates when you wanna go out together and just scoff your face and unbutton your jeans secretly. While holding your stomach and laughing at how each of your boyfriends are singing in their showers. For me it was a good service and the whole place seemed very clean.

I completely disagree with the statement above. I have always had a lovely time at Aroma. I always have my birthday party there. The food is very delicious and the price for it is very suitable. Aroma Wood Green has a wide variety of food and is very spacious. The price of the food is resonable ; it is a buffet. And I think that the price of drins and tap water are resonable for it being a restauranbt...all you can eat.

This place was absolutely disgusting.
The decor looked ok but the staff were very very rude. The manager should be ashamed of himself too since he was the rudest of all. No patience, no etiquette from any of them.
They were like robots, acting with no emotion whatsoever. Its like you push a button on them and they start working but apart from that, they cant interact with humans. What a joke they were. Its typical service from mainland chinese people though no offence. I have chinese friends from Hong kong so I know the difference.
Food was MEH. Bland, predictiable, cold. I told the waiters and waitresses but they didnt seem to respond, intentionally or unitentionally, they were plain rude.
Who the hell charges 50p for tap water??? No-one....apart from cheap managers who wish to make money by whatever means. Anyone who charges for tap water loses respect and those managers deserve to lose business.
They are better suited to working in run down ghost towns where slobs hang out.
I dont recommend this place at all. Please avoid at all costs. There are far better places out there.

I visited Aroma on 3rd December 2011. I will have to agree with the comments regarding the staff…The guy on the front desk seemed to have the attention span of a button and the personality to match. As for our “waiter” cough, cough…he looked like someone had turned the lights off when they left his brain. How hard can it be to write down 2 drinks? Mind you when the rest of our party (20+) turned up it took over 30 minutes before anyone even came to take drink orders! I managed the grand total of 3 drinks in the 3 hours I was there! Seems strange that the biggest profit would be on drinks, yet they are so inept at dealing with this. Anyway on to the food……..this was a shock, as after reading many reviews I must say it was much better than I had been led to believe. I will even go as far to say some of the food was very tasty. In short, food’s great for the price but don’t get your hopes up on service as they might be the most useless staff I have ever encountered…and I have been to France!!!

DO NOT GO TO AROMA. THEY ARE RUDE, NOT HELPFUL. I WENT ON THE 7 MAY. THE FOOD WAS COLD. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER VIA A WAITRESS WHO TOOK MY PLATE OF FOOD WITH HER AND IT TOOK 20 MINUTES FOR THE MANAGER TO COME OVER. WHEN SHE DID ALL SHE SAID WAS OUR FOOD IS NOT COLD IT HAS BEEN TESTED. NO APOLOGY WHAT SO EVER. WE WERE OFFERED 10% BUT I ASKED FOR A REFUND AS WE ENDED UP NOT EATING ANYTHING. I HAVE WRITTEN 3 LETTERS TO THEM ONE BY POST, ONE BY HAND AND ONE RECORDED DELIVERY. EACH ONE ASKING FOR A REPLY WITHIN 2 WEEKS. STILL NO RESPONSE. I HAVE CONTACTED TRADING STANDARDS AND TAKEN THEIR ADVICE. THE DEADLINE FOR A REPLY WAS FRIDAY 5TH AUGUST. SO NOW I AM TAKING THEM TO COURT.

Don't go expecting service , pleasant atmosphere or top notch Chinese cuisine. This is a good place to go if you are one of those people who has a bottomless pit for a stomach and isn't too fussy on what they throw down it. Don't get me wrong, sometimes the buffet is full and very passable, but if you go near the end of the evening, the buffet slowly dies down and you are left with the bits that nobody else wants. The staff have no idea on service or even how to be pleasant. They can in fact be quite rude! It is a physical impossibility for them to smile or even be polite, so don't be surprised or upset if they are nasty to you, you have been warned! The best time to go is around 5-8pm, when they are really busy. Then, at least, the food is hot and plentiful. Other times, is just a hit and miss affair. Beware of reviews that give 10/10, especially when everyone else is giving less than 4 stars! Friends, family and owners of restaurants have been known to leave themselves raving reviews to boost their standing, but be sure that this particular restaurant is at the lower end of the Chinese food scale of restaurants.

The manager at wood green aroma restaurant is very rude and confrontational. Any large party is often left on the sidelines until they have ushered in as many punters in as possible! You are treated as if you are begging for service in this overrated cattle- Market. The food itself was acceptable though many of the meats were oversalted and lukewarm. No ambiance, rather reminiscent of a rowdy school dinner hall with an incompetent headmaster patrolling the tables. AVOID.

We went in (to the Woodgreen Aroma) for dinner on a Friday night at quarter to 10. As soon as we entered the restaurant floor, the manger and an assistant came along to tell us that they close at quarter to 11 and not at 11.30 as mentioned on their website. They said eat as fast as you can as we will close in one hour. So do you want to eat or not?
taking on board the lack of etiquette the staff has for such buffet (Chinese) places we still went on to see what they had to offer. Even before we sat at our tables the waitress started asking us what do we want to drink and when we said can we have some water, she started saying you'll have to pay for water, 50p for a glass and something else that i could not catch owing to her poor accent.
We did not ask for a drink and went to see what they had on offer. There was hardly anything that could be termed appetising in the concourse (e.g- dry roasts, hastily prepared chicken dishes and grisly beef and pork preparations).
We are seafood fads and hence went to see the sea food on offer. there were just three pieces of salmon left and some mussels. So when we enquired that are they going to refill these at all- the answer was , you may have guessed it- "NO, this is what we have eat it if you want to".
That was just more than enough for a Friday night's dinner for us. We left right away. I guess by now you have guessed it - you may not end up with a pleasant taste after all least to mention enjoy any aroma!
