A Touch of Novelli - The White Horse

Came for Sunday lunch on the 30th of March, and I must say that the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable.

We were greeted by a lovely young lady that must of been the Matre'd who made our lunch very memorable.

The menu we were told was the Sunday lunch menu which included some of the dishes from the a la carte as well as the roasts of the day which that day included rib eye of beef or honey and mustard bacon joint, at last a good roast dinner in a nice restaurant!!

The bill at end came to £110 for 4 of us which included 2 courses and a bottle of the house wine and oh yes a few gin and tonics to finish.

Over all a very nice Sunday lunch.

I was put off going to the Harpenden restaurant by the scathing reviews on this site. It was only when some praise in the local press caught my eye that I decided to take the risk and give it a go.

I would like to say in my opinion this is the best food I have ever eaten and at incredibly cheap prices.

My only tiny quibble was that the staff were typically French and surly and one or two more smiles would add to what is a wonderful dinning experience

I was slightly unsure of what to expect after hearing differing opinions on the restaurant at Harpenden, but have to say that I enjoyed a comfortable evening with good atmosphere and excellent food. I would recommend anyone to sample the menu, the staff were very helpful and attentive and an enjoyable experience al round
