I LOVE THIS PLACE!

Me and my friends have been going consistently for years (one of my friends has been going since they were in the womb!). Have NEVER been disappointed. The staff are really good, they enjoy a chat as well as seeing to it that you never want for anything. Anwar, the manager, is incredible, he knows almost everyone who has been in there more than once by name which is a stunning achievement.

The portions are big and the food is cheap, a previous reviewer said presentation was amatuerish and whilst harsh there is an element of truth to this - however - that takes nothing away from the quality of the food.

Genuinely cannot sing their praises enough.

This place is great. I go here with my boyfriend whenever we have Indian food and its all very in taste and presentation.

There are only two other Indian resteraunts in the local area that are better than this place.

I eat like a pig when I am here and pay for it the next day.

The park opposite makes for nice viewing also.

I also went to Taste of Raj in January 11 and i was really impressed!

The food was great, I ordered a selection of dishes all GREAT! the service was fine also. I totally agree with the comment below, people are obviously writing negative reviews for NO reasons.

Im definitely going back!

FANTASTIC FOOD, SERVICE AND VALUE FOR MONEY.

I cannot understand the negative reviews this restaurant has received. My partner and I have visited this restaurant on several occasions over the past year and ave also taken friends. We ALL think the food is wonderful and the service and value for money excellent. I can only think that these negative reviewers are from another local restaurant not doing as well!

I visited the Taste of Raj in January 2011 and thought the food they served up was appalling. Yes the staff are attentive but is that really enough? I too can not for the life of me understand the rave reviews this place is getting as there was absolutely nothing about the experience that would make me want to eat there again. however it should be noted that I visited on a Wednesday so maybe their "A" team only work weekends.

If you are easily impressed by attentive and polite staff that serve poor quality food, this is the restaurant for you.

My wife and I have been going to the Taste of Raj for almost twenty years and it has been consistently excellent in all that time. We have been in many other 'Indian' restaurants in London and across the country over the years and none have come close to the great service, delicious food and downright bargain prices. Like another reviewer, I always take friends who are visiting there and they all agree it is excellent. The staff are very attentive and the owner is just amazing. He is so friendly, efficient and definitely runs a tight ship. The previous reviewer who said he found it to be sub-standard and implied that the positive reviewers are 'in league' with the restaurant is very puzzling. Maybe he works for another local restaurant himself? That's the only logical explanation to me and all my friends who love the Taste of Raj.

I visited this restaurant in early October 2010 and found it to be very average indeed.

The food was massively underwhelming in flavour, texture and amateurish in presentation, for instance the mango chutney was bright red, the onion salad was chopped into large 1cm squares, the mint sauce had almost no mint in it at all and the popadoms were overcooked, thin and greasy. The starter was swimming in grease and the chicken used for the main course was not fresh and looked like it has been reheated from the day before and the after dinner brandy was just about the cheapest fowl smelling poor excuse for a brandy I have ever been exposed to that was warm and watered down.

The staff were polite, friendly and attentive, however this did not compensate for the below par food & drink. There are many Indian restaurants in the borough of Enfield that I would go back to eat at again, (and have done) however this isn’t one of them.

I have read the other reviews and am stunned at how positive they all are; they look like they have been written by stooges who have never actually eaten at this restaurant or have some affiliation with it.

If you like friendly, polite and attentive staff, mediocre eating environment and below par Indian food, this is the restaurant for you.

Just had another excellent meal in this restaurant. It is by far the best Indian restaurant in the whole area of Palmers Green, Southgate, Winchmore Hill, Oakwood or Cockfosters. Really tasty and well cooked Indian food with superb service. The owner and waiters are always friendly, with lots of extras not provided in other restaurants. The prices are normal making this restaurant excellent value. Takeaway is great too, although they don't deliver. Booking is vital for a Saturday night.
