Da Mario (Covent Garden)

Having read the reviews we booked a table for after the theatre on Monday 12th May. We arrived at 10.45pm and were shown to a table for 2. The only other people in the restaurant were a party of 10 or so Japanese men out for a night. They were incredibly noisy, not abusive, and we probably should have left. We ordered 2 courses both of which were good. During our meal they started getting ready to close down, walking by our table with bits and pieces. We asked for the bill, there was no mention of the noise. I think we were in and out in about 35 minutes.

We were left with the impression that they didn't care whether you enjoyed yourself or not.

We don't know whether we would go back but probably not.

I recommeded a party of seven to DA MARIOS on Monday 21st APRIL and they loved to food and service everything was wonderful starting with the service and the food i would highly recommed this lovely restaurant.

Me and my friend had an absolutely lovely meal here, the service was friendly and fast, the food was amazing. Just an overall great atmosphere to the place. I would most definatly reccomend it. I will certainly be dining here again!

We visited Da Mario's yesterday evening. We turned up without a reservation early evening and were informed that if we come back in 20 mins they could fit us in.

The restaurant was buzzing and extremly busy. We returned in 20 mins and were seated.

The food was lovely with lots of flavour and the atmosphere good. The service we received was excellent. We would definately recommend this restaurant.

This place is EXCELLENT!! Went there for dinner with my bf and friends.. and had a FAB meal! Top quality food at reasonable prices! I had the lobster linguine (special for the day) and absolutely loved it! Chunky pieces of lobsters in not-too-creamy herby tomato sauce.. cooked to perfection! My guests ordered the beef and fish and loved it too!! I highly recommend this place for a casual night out! It is truly a rare gem! Please make reservations before going as it is a rather small place.. and is always crowded!

Great service, friendly waiters, good food, reasonable prices.. what more can you ask for?

Visited Da Mario last Friday, and I have to say that all the positive reviews on this site are definitely justified.

We arrived an hour after the restaurant had opened for it's evening service, and the place was absolutely buzzing. We had to wait a little while to be seated, and although another couple who wandered in off the street were seated prior to us it didn't take long to get our table.

The portions are absolutely huge and extremely good value for money, and the service was impeccable from start to finish. The whole place had a very authentic family-run trattoria feel to it, and there was even a heated (but good natured, and very funny) argument going on in the kitchen about the merits and downfalls of Juventus and Inter which could be overheard as you visited the toilets.

My only concern is that the staff / owners of Da Mario won't have enough time to read these reviews and learn how highly regarded their little gem of a restaurant actually is!

We went to Da Mario's last night without booking. We were informed that if we could wait about 30 minuets then Maria would be able to get us a table. We went to a pub next door and were phoned to say our table was ready. What a brilliant find! The food was out of this world. The staff were absolutely fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. When we got the bill we could not believe how reasonable it was considering the excellent quality of the best Italian food we've ever had. We will be telling all our friends and family about this place and will be returning very soon. Ciao

One of the best Italians I have ever been too!

Amazing food, lovely atmosphere, great service!

I have been here a few times and I never fail to be impressed.

The staff will go out of the way for you if something is not on the menu and are really attentive and won't kick you out even if they are rammed and you've been at your table for hours.

This place is always busy and rightly so!

The only downside is they are not open on Sundays!!

A busy Valentine's Night, in spite of that, some of the staff found time to chat. Service excellent. A set menu for the evening but a starter not part of the menu was prepared for my wife. Food delicious. Pleasant atmosphere. We will return.

Another successful visit to this restaurant. Gluten-free pasta available but also made a wine sauce to compliment my lamb cutlets. The creme brulee was delicious, too
