Eclipse South Kensington
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
Booked a couple of tables for a friends birthday at eclipse a few weeks ago. Heard good reviews about this place. Our experience was an absolute nightmare!! From the moment we and our guests arrived, we were made to feel very unwelcome, not by the staff who were pleasant and helpful, but by the manageress. She was rude to the birthday girl and parents, and complained about the number of our guests. To top this off at the end of the evening she demanded £800 (!) for the booking of the tables even though all guests had bought at least 3 drinks each, not including the various bottles champagne and wine that were ordered! - which more than covered the booking of the tables. These orders were obviously overlooked either to get more money from us or becuase they did not have a logical system in place to account for all the drinks that were being ordered by our table. After a huge row and various insults and swear words being directed at us by the manager, we gave a percentage of what she was demanding - £300 - and left. If she really felt that the amount she was demanding was a true reflection, the police would have been called. We are all absolutely disgusted with the treatment received. Eclipse is a bar that many of the guests that evening have been to previously on more than one occassion and we are absolutely flabbergasted at our treatment by the manageress who was obviously in a altered state of mind.
