I visited 'Korean Kitchen' a few weeks ago, having been recommended the restaurant by a friend, and was impressed by the food and the service at this 'bijou' restaurant.

I am a big fan of Asian cuisine, enjoying Thai, Japanese, Indian food, etc, but I am a bit of a novice where Korean food is concerned, so I was a little unsure about what to order when handed the menu. I should not have been worried though as I mentioned to the waitress that I did not know much about Korean food, so the waitress happily recommended me several dishes, including Kimchi , fried squid (similar to calamari), miso-style soup, and dolsot bibimbap (a rice dish served in a hot stone bowl with vegetables, beef and egg).

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, being impressed with every dish that was brought out to us - everything was delicious!

To make the meal even better was finding out how inexpensive the meal had been - for 7 or eight dishes and two beers the bill came to less than £30!

I can highly recommend this restaurant, and will return again in the near future.

I have eaten here many times for dinner and always leave happy and full for the price of around ten pounds.

The food is lovely and although the atmosphere isn't up to much for this price you can make your own entertainment!

Having lived in both London and Seoul (South Korea) for a long period of time I was interested to see what Korean Kitchen would be like in comparison to the other Korean restaraunts in London such as Asadal and a variety of others based nearby.

The outlay of the restaraunt was clean and despite it being quite small was a perfect veneue to for a quick bite while on the way to the office.

I arrived at 12:45pm and was shown to my table, there were quite a few people eating in there. I decided to go for the bulgogi and the korean omlette which was excellent. The service was friendly and keen to help in respect to menu choices and explaining which dishes are from different regions of South Korea.

The 10% service charge was reasonable as I would have tipped the waiter more if I did not spot it on the bill.

Overall a nice little restaraunt where it is certainly worth visiting for something different to the ordinary.

It's always interesting to try new places, and new cuisines, and a Korean restaurant makes a change from the plethora of Chinese & Thai eateries in and around Soho. Initial impressions of Korean Kitchen were very positive. The décor is simple and neat, and the menu is extensive and inviting.

I visited Korean Kitchen with three friends. As it was a lunchtime three of us chose from the the "set lunch" selection, and one of us went "a la carte". Unfortunately, ordering the food was pretty much the last time that all four of us managed to do anything simultaneously, as our dishes - starters and main course - all turned up at different times, and took an incredible amount of time to do so. Having ordered at about 1.10, we were still waiting for main courses at 1.50. Had the place been heaving with hungry office-workers there might have been some explanation, but there were only 2 other people in the entire restaurant. And on that note, and almost empty room is not really a fun place for lunch, but I guess it's still new (as of 6th March 2008), and yet to attract much regular custom.

The food itself - when it arrived - was mostly fine. The Daeji Bulgogi (thinly-sliced barbecued pork) was good and spicy, the sticky rice was great, and the vegetable pancakes (a small side dish) were excellent. The kimchi, however, was very bland - even allowing for the fact that it might be toned down for "western" palates.

Automatically adding 10% for service is a practice I dislike - especially so when it was glacially slow - and it took the price of lunch out of "good value" into "not too bad, for London, I suppose". Sadly, despite the tempting menu, it's not somewhere we'll be hurrying back to.

The newly opened restaurant near Piccadilly Circus brings a surprise to my korean food experience. Although it situates in a non-interesting part of the Piccadilly, but the food was brought to amaze me and my friends. Different from other korean restaurant near by, the food was very impressive and nice compare to the pricecs I pay for. I normally go to New Malden to have korean food because some of the restaurant has its unique character and taste, i think korean kitchen is the one with a unqie character. Now I dont have to travel to zone 4 to get really nice korean food.
