Don't agree with the poor service comments. I went there tonight with friends and had a great meal. Steak was very very good. Only upset the suckling pig was already finished - if it was half as good as the steak I really missed out and will be going back to try again. My friend was delighted they served burgers and beans on toast!

I'm going to the Rivington Grill tonight having been a couple of time before and loved it. I've just been reading some other people's comments, and am genuinely shocked at some of the negative feedback. On both of my previous visits ive had a really lovely time and consequently my boyfriend and i now love the place, and travel from north west London to go there. The shrimp/toast starter, the fish pie and the apple crumble are particularly delicious and the waitress that served us (on both occasions) was really pleasant and smiley, in a natural way...not false or arrogant. I have been, and would have not hestitation, recommending this place to anyone.

very slow service. Our starters were 30 minutes late. The waiter mumbled something about them having been forgotten and they were credited off our bill, but I'd planned a special business lunch and was disappointed that the manager himself didn't come over and apologise. Then the waiter put the service charge on the bill automatically, crediting himself with £10. Food's ok but service is crap

We recently enjoyed my wife's 30th birthday dinner at The Rivington. There were fouteen of us and we were all looked after extremely well. The food was delightful. The service was perfect. Michael made us feel very welcome as soon as we got into the bar by mixing us some excellent drinks. And we arranged for a lemon polenta birthday cake to be made in the deli too...which turned out to be very delicious indeed. A perfect evening and a very happy birthday girl. Thanks to the super staff!

had such a warm, comfortable, friendly time here. the bar staff was very friendly and informative with the choice of drinks, i even got introduced to a few new cocktails!Had roast dinner which was really nice for home cooked food, there was no cheap really thin cut beef, food was very generous. main courses were between £9-20. no pretentious shoreditch twats here aswell. really nice place to relax and have a good dinner wih friends

Went for lunch and was really looking forward to enjoying a nice meal unfortunately this was ruined by the arrogant miserable staff. The waiter acted like he was doing us a favour taking our order and seemed thoroughly uninterested in providing a level of service which should accompany a £50pp meal. Food was ok but will not return due to the arrogant (i don't know why???) staff.

The food was ok, althought at £50pp (including drinks) could have been better. The atmosphere was ok, and the service was friendly, if somewhat haphazard, with a couple of things forgotten. It did have the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat on in a restaurant! I think the management should try spending an hour or three in one. I don't think I'd rush back.

A promising menu but disappointing food. Inattentive service; the waitress was more interested in removing empty glasses than asking if we wanted more drinks.Great sticky toffee pudding.
