Sfizio

Sfizio is one of those restaurants that looks nicer from the outside! Essentially this is a glorified sandwich bar that comes into its own at lunchtime and tails off a bit in the evening. This is somewhere to come for a takeaway rather than a sit-down meal.
The decor is somewhat reminiscent of a modern art gallery with lots of useless space and cheap furniture being passed off as trendy. It's easy to be polite and fake appreciation whilst there, but, upon leaving, the overriding thought is one of "what was that?"
Service is patchy and hard to understand but friendly. It's never clear whether one is supposed to order at the bar or wait for table service. I've been a few times and the service seems to be a strange cross of two formats.
It's a bit pricey but the food is okay. It's a tough call on how to score this one. There's nothing particularly outstanding about Sfizio, but it's convenient and there's nothing else like it within line of sight, so it survives.
