Black & Blue (Gloucester Road)

We enjoy going to The Proms at the Albert Hall , but have not had much luck with eating before the concerts. But this week we got lucky. At last somewhere that knows how to cook steak. Add to that helpful smiling staff and quick service. We shall be back!

After a full day of sightseeing and shopping we were dead on our feet, and couldn't agree on where to eat. Saw this place and agreed, we liked it so much we went back the next night!

Had a simple sirloin steak here and it was perfect. Exactly as ordered, pink and perfect. I know this area a little, and this is way better than I expected!

Bumped into this restarant by chance last night. Excellent food, atmosphere and value.

Menu is a little plain, but the quality more than makes up for this.

I had the best burger I have ever had and its really nice to be asked how you would like it cooked.

2 can easily eat for £50 and the wines are well priced.

The service was excellent, the food astounding and the portion sizes even more so! Even though completely stuffed from the main course we couldn't resist the chocolate dessert! The price was completely reasonable too! Definitely going back...

We're from Texas and appreciate Great Steaks...and Black and Blue has them!!! And the sauces are divine!!! We eat there every time we're in London. The restaurants representative, Dita, is wonderful and takes really great care of us!! Would highly recommend Black and Blue!!

My brother had recommended Black & Blue as serving really good burgers, but after having eaten there on Saturday I must disagree.

The burger itself was overcooked (I ordered it medium cooked) and devoid of succulence, the bun like a cheap supermarket value one and the chips had clearly been sitting under a hot lamp for too long as they were stale and needed a lot of sauce etc on them to cover up their blandness. All very disappointing, especially at a tenner a go.

The service was friendly but the atmosphere was lacking. I would favour Tootsies or the Gourmet Burger bar for a restaurant burger over Black & Blue any day.
