We have eaten at Jaan twice now and have sampled both the Taster Menu and the A la Carte Menu. It was so good that I brought our President there the second time! The staff's attention to detail, the relaxed atmosphere and Simon's excellent cooking made it all a very special experience. The combination of unique flavours and textures (try the scallop and duck or the pork belly starters) is outstanding with beautiful presentation. Everything was served on special plates reflecting and highlighting the excellence of each dish. The portions are well balanced while remaining light enough to leave space for the dishy desserts. Particular favourites were the barramundi and the rabbit and lobster roulade while the apple medley dessert is to die for! The sommelier managed to complement the dishes beautifully with his wine recommendations and the complementary dessert wine was one of the highlights of our evening! Jaan is a hidden gem and we can't wait for the weather to cheer up so we can have an al fresco meal in the beautiful courtyard garden. We'll definitely be back!

Jaan was an absolutely brilliant experience, admittedly my boyfriend is a Chef there so we did receive an extra five mini courses and the 50% discount helped! But I seriously loved the food, it was experimental and delicious and beautifully presented. My lobster and rabbit roulade derserves a mention as one of the most origanal things I have ever eaten. My only criticism is that the restaurant lacked ambience.

It was my husband’s birthday and we decided to try out a restaurant where we had never been before. Some friends recommended Jaan and I have to say it was an excellent choice.
We decided to go for the 6 course tasting menu. The wild pigeon with foie gras was delicious and it just melted in your mouth. All the dishes were very well presented and the combination of flavours was exceptional and surprising.

My wife and i dinned on Saturday at Jaan as we were staying in the hotel for our wedding anniversay. The food is a wonderfull mix brilliantly served on a selection of plates to fit the tone of the course. Having eaten in some of the best restaurants in our area i was worried about what it would be like but from the moment we started the entre that disapeared and i found myself longing for the next course to arrive. If i told you about each course this review would be pages long so let me just tell you about it in a few words. Artistic, an eye for presentaion detail, cooked to perfection, wonderfull array of tastes, tentive but not obtrusive service, and a room that matched the food with its mixture of architectural styles. The down side is its not cheap but the again you get what you pay for.

The Jaan Restaurant experience was superlative. My wife and I dined in the interior room which was elegantly detailed, and subtley illuminated. The wait staff was silent but attentive, gliding to the table, receiving our selections then fading away to observe from the background. The quiet atmosphere and low tone of voices around us enriched the intimacy of our dinner. The wait staff appeared to coordinate their movements between each other by eye contact, approaching the table at only the right moment, anticipating our needs perfectly, before fading away to the periphery. The menu was lacking in any beef entrees, which was disappointing. However I ordered the lamb which was delicious to both the eye and the palate as the dish was articulately rendered with a nouveau minimalism upon the plate, and succulently tasty. My wife was swept away by a refreshingly arranged (and delicious) seafood linguini dish. Jaan's fusion of the French and Asian menus complimented each other harmoniously as flavor accents artistry. This restaurant is very cozy and tasteful and best attended with intimate company. Expensive and satisfying.

Ate at Jaan again, on 3.2.2006. It happened to be the first day of the new menu and the new chef. The cuisine is not described as French - Cambodian any more, but as Asian fusion. The Australian chef came out after the meal and asked our opinion about the tasting menu, as we were the first to try it. We had a nice chat. Service friendly and attentive as before, but the waitresses have a very poor command of English, which clashes with the opulent surroundings. The food used to be exciting, with surprising but clean flavour combinations - it has gone all cheffy now, elaborated and fussy. The only meat on the menu is pigeon, rabit and venison. Not everyone is into game, but it's either that, or fish. Please, can we have some simple beef? As for prices, expensive. And their signature drink at the (beautifully) renovated bar is £10.

Jaan is one of the best restaurant specialize in the fusion food in London. The mix between Asian and French Cuisine is very surprising but taste very good. I went yesterday night with my father and we enjoyed the dinner. We ate in the garden which is very nice, the service was very good and the 5 courses dinner prepared by Paul Peters was excelent. Also, the selection of wine is perfect to eat with the dishes. It was a very good restaurant and I will not forget it.
