Terrible

The food is expensive and in typical Japanese style, we wanted tap water with our meal. The waitress refused. Then she said that there were no spare glasses, and then she told us that the water had been condemned by the council as unsafe to drink.

In the UK, if a restaurant serves alcohol, it is legally obliged to serve tap water for free so we argued and asked for a manager, and then we got our tap water. We should have left at this point really

The food took about 30 minutes to arrive and was poor at best and definitely not worth the money we paid for it.

They then added 10% 'discretionary tip` onto our bill, which we didn't pay due to the very very poor service, and were accused of being criminals by the waitress (who didn't smile once). The service was shocking, and this is not an authentic Japanese eating experience.

Don't go here.

I went to this restaurant on 5 Feb 2011 with family and had a very bad experience.

Before taking orders from us, the no smiling waitress order my son to take away the bottle filled with mineral water, saying something like "don't try filling the bottle with our ice water!' I was very annoyed and was about to cancel our order. My wife asked me to keep calm in order not to spoil our holiday in London. I should have filed a complaint against the waitress for making such an prejudice remark.

I went with my family on Sunday afternoon (28/10/2010). AJI was quiet at 4pm but the staff seemed very keen to kick us out of the restaurant, perhaps because we have 2 small kids and 3 years old). Food is quite ok, but I don't recommend going there if you have family with small kids. The service was given with no smile at all; we shouldn't have given the discretionary service tip.
