I have been three times now, on all occassions they were really busy and they still managed to find us a table, the service was excellent, food was very tasty and reasonably priced. I now recoomend it to my friends.

There's nothing more that I like, than a good meal and an enjoyable evening out with friends. Well, there is one thing. I like a well built restaurant. The sort of establishment that you know you can count on. The sort that won't fall down and will still be standing in years to come. In terms of the build of the place, I noticed two things. Good doors, small chairs. And quite frankly, that should be more than enough for any man. The food was a bonus. The atmosphere, a delight. Good doors, small chairs – I'll be back there for sure.

went to Tas Pide this evening, 26/08/11, with my husband. use to go there quite often before, but today we were very disappointed. like the previous reviewer, we were also greeted very coldly. there is no warmth or friendliness!!

though we had booked, were given a table near the counter. so we asked to be seated elsewhere, which they agreed. straight away the bread came with olives and the yogurt dip. the bread was cold and hard, so sent it back to be heated.

than ordered couple of starters, falafel, kisir, humous and the filo pastry. the falafels were hot but not cooked at all from inside. so left half the starters. my husband wanted to just leave, but convinced him to stay for the dessert and coffee.

want be going there again ever.

I am Turkish myself and for the last five years I’ve been trying to find a Turkish restaurant in London that actually serves Turkish food. So when I went to Tas Pide I was rather sceptical. I went to the restaurant for a Friday lunch with a friend of mine. First of all we were greeted by a very unfriendly head-waitress who wanted to make us sit next to the lavatory, of course I refused and opted for another table which wasn’t a problem since the place was half empty. She made a face and walked away – very unprofessional and rude. So that wasn’t a good start.

The food was absolutely horrible – from start to the finish. We ordered couple of cold and hot starters (which were recommended by our waiter who knew I was Turkish) and for mains we had two pides (mince lamb and chop meaty ones), which were both bland and tasteless. We tried our best to finish what we got, but we just couldn’t, it was horrible.

I was very disappointed, will never go to this place again. On the top of that they charged us 25 quid per head (without wine!) for this rubbish.

If you want to have real Turkish food, then go to Turkey... that’s what I’d say.

A friend introduced me to this most excellent place, & I've taken many of my friends to it. All have expressed delight & enjoyment afterwards. I've also recommended it to others, who have without fail commented favourably.

This area used to be a bit of a desert for eating; now, the area near the Globe offers several chains. Which is fine, if that's what you want.

Walk down the road, though, for something a bit out of the ordinary. It's Anatolyan cooking, & offers subtle combinations of flavours for quick meals & for heartier main course offerings.

I have never been disappointed - even when it's very busy, the service is still polite and efficient. The food is tasty & filling - excellent on a cold winter's afternoon or early evening. I have tried (!) to eat my way down the menu: boat-shaped pizzas with a twist, which are made on the premises & cooked in a wood-burning oven, which you can see from your table. These are very modest in price. As previous reviewers have mentioned, complimentary bowls of soup, with bread, olives & humous are brought to your table while you decide from the extensive (but not pretentious) menu. Tas Pide also offers an unusual & different selections of puddings, which are great fun to try if there are a couple of you; the waiters are very understanding of 'one plate, two spoons'! The house wine is reasonable, and you can buy wine by the glass. If there's a party of 8-10 people in, then the atmosphere can be a tad loud, but visit out of standard 'rush' hours, & you'll find it welcoming yet tranquil.

Enjoy! Service is amazingly efficient & unfailingly polite.

I've been here twice and have enjoyed the experience both times.

They serve an array of what I can only describe as Lebanese pizzas with various exotic toppings.

The portions are generous, and both times we were offered a free bowl of soup as well as the standard olives and bread.

Our favourite was a desert item; dried apricots filled with home-made cream.

The service is quick and the staff are courteous.

The location is a bit unfortunate, being located in between London Bridge and Southwark, and if you're a slow walker like myself it takes 15 minutes from either station to walk there (no buses). I advise taking a map!

My husband (who is Turkish) and I went to this restaurant and were thoroughly disappointed. We expected that a pide restaurant would have good pide, but sadly, the pide was horrible. I ordered the kararsik pide, which has cured beef, feta cheese and mushrooms. The cured beef was worse than beef jerky and was extremely salty. I had this in Turkey and it was delighful, but at this restaurant I couldn't even eat two bites (and I'm not a picky eater at all). My husband ordered a pide with ground beef, tomato, onion and pine nuts. It had absolutely no taste. We will not be going there again.
