Don't come here if your looking for a chain of conveyor belt restaurants slowly destroying your food!
Do come here if your looking for a great introduction to japanese food, love fresh quality sushi without the stuffiness other over priced restauranteurs demand. Bring all the family!
Always busy after 7.30pm, relaxed friendly service with no intention to bring in more covers.
A gem of Japan in Balham!

I have eaten in Japanese restaurants all over the city and can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good Japanese food in friendly authentic surroundings at affordable prices. The sushi is especially good.

I have been coming here for several years and always found the food excellent, never had a bad meal. The service isnt great (well the staff look miserable) and theres not much atmosphere, but I am usually full of healthy food for approx £15/20. Its a brill place for a quick meal that tastes fantastic and isnt too bad for you.

A nice calm place to eat dinner. Food is quite good, but I think it needs a bit more freshness as the food can taste a bit prepared. Lovely decor and staff.

When we went there were only two other people in the entire restaurant. This in itself was not a good reflection, but I suppose it was a lunch time -we went for the £5 deal which is a great idea! However, after a rather dull looking waiter approaching us gingerly we ordered jasmine tea which was too expensive for what it was - especially as so many places around London now offer it for free. We had a decent meal ,but nothing to shout about - although I did love the edemame beans! I was not blown over by the food, but considering we were paying so little for lunch it seemed acceptable. Overall though, I was rather disappointed with Fujisan and do not expect to return in a rush. A shame really.

This is one of my local restaurants and I think that the sushi is great value and has been consistently good. However, on a recent trip my friend made the mistake of ordering one of the main meals. So stick to the Sushi. Starters are good too.

I'm a local that has been going to Fujisan regularly for 3-4 years and have noticed it slowly going downhill and tonight was the final straw. We just aren't going back. The waitresses always look utterly miserable and are just plain rude; the food is now average (at best); the service is slow and when you do politely explain why you are not happy to pay the non-optional 10% service charge then you're looked at like you've sworn at them. Sorry....for the prices they charge they have lost me!
