Great food at the right price, seriously shocked when bill for 4 of us came to less than £40 quid with wine etc. Has a great buzzy atmosphere and the service is amazing without being intrusive

Yet another lovely evening at cafe mode, we dine there regularly and have found ourselves seated next to Charles Dance , Keira Knightly to name just a few of the theatre crowd. Cant recommend this lovely cosy place enough .

I truly am gobsmacked at the reviews this place has received. Just to brief you down, i eat out often with my friends and restaurants i rate include Jakarta's and Silom Thai in Ealing (check their marks for clarification).

This is without any shadow the worst restaurant I've ever eaten in, and I don't say that lightheartedly.

I really do not know where to start, from service to food the place is truly on another level of poorness.

I can only assume that the owners friends have logged on and bigged the place up. Reading the reviews it seems the owner is pretty generous with the odd free tipple here and there - must undoubtedly be a guilty conscience for the rubbish he's serving up.

I could detail my entire experience, but really it'll end up being a novel. Take my word the service is awful, the food is second rate and the atmosphere is non existent. Do not under any circumstances dine at this hellhole.

I have just returned from London and a wonderful meal at Cafe Mode. Everything was so fantastic I just had to write about it. My husband booked online for our wedding anniversary. Our reservation was for 12.30pm but we turned up at noon and were shown to a lovely table. We were given two complimentary glasses of champagne and a big bowl of complimentary olives. Looking at recommendations I went for the Calimari (lovely light crisp batter, flavoursome mayonnaise dip and unlike everywhere else it was the perfect temperature to scoff straight away!) My husband had bruchetta that was crisp and packed with lovely fresh chopped tomato, fresh basil and garlic. For mains I had the Mode Special burger witha side order of chips. The burger was massive and exceptional quality with a nice thick lean slice of bacon and a healthy serving of avocado. My husband had the lamb cutlets and they were soon polished off. Another two complimentary glasses of champagne and then desert. I opted for tiramisu whilst my other half had the chocolate fudge cake. The portions were very large despite being served on an oversized plate! The tiramisu was light and not overpowered with dessert wine. The chocolate cake was lovely, not too rich. Another two complimentary glasses of champagne! The waiters were excellent and I presume he was the proprietor we maily dealt with did everything to make us feel special. A wonderful experience and I will definitely be recommending it to friends and I hope to go there again soon. For three courses, a side order of delicious fries and a large bottle of mineral water, with service it cost just over £42 which I think is excellent for central London and you certainly got very healthy portions, I have a massive appetite and I'm still full nearly 6 hours later!

I like Cafe Mode, its one of those few places to eat in London that I and a friend have been to more than once, I think its becuase its one of the few places in London I have eaten where the staff bother to make you feel at home. There is no Rose wine on the menu, but they always manage to come up with a bottle of Rose D'anjou. Pizza's and Pastas sre fine, but the lamb chops are to die for hmmmm. Like other reviewers have said the owner is generous and always seems to offer a farewell tipple on the house - bravo sir ! I'm not sure its big enough for parties over 4, but for a one to one over a candlelite Pizza/Pasta there is nowhere else in London xxx

Found this place next door to a coffee shop a group of us were meeting in just before christmas, walked in at about 6.30 on a Thursday night, not reservations and 6 of us were seated with no problems, especially as a couple of the group had mobility issues.

Great food, great atmosphere.

Must remember to book it again, unbeatable!

Stumbled across this fantastic restaurant and was short on a time. Had great food, service and atmosphere as well as being extremely reasonable. Went back again and even the cast of Daddy Cool were enjoying this place as we were. Would thoroughly recommend without a shadow of doubt - try the homemade burgers with advocado and bacon - oh to die for!!

First visited this lovely cafe two years ago and it's a favourite. So was the first place I thought of for lunch on my "Hen-Day". We didn't book but they were most accomodating seating 5 of us immediately at 2pm on a Saturday. It was also my friend's 40th, and after our meal they brought out a complimentry slice of their delicious chocolate cake with a candle and sang to her. Absolutely first rate service, cosy little cafe with excellent pasta and delicious wine. AND TIRIMISOU TO DIE FOR....

I've been there three times within the last 3 months. The steaks, burgers and pasta are all excellent as are the prices! The thing that sets it apart from the rest are the great location and exceptional service. Recommended to all.

We stumbled across this gem with not much time to spare before a showing at the New London Theatre on Drury Lane. Fantastic atmosphere and they were so accomodating of our time restrictions. Really friendly staff and unbelievably cheap given the area and the standard of the food. We will definitely be returning with more people next time.
