This has become my "regular". Always consistant, good service and tasty food. It can get busy over the weekend and you may be waiting for some time for your food, but you cannot fault it in any way. The house wine is excellent compared to other restaurants. The starters and main course are presented well and taste as good as they look. The waiters are always helpful. Its nice to have a local restaurant which is of the same quality if not better compared to some cental london restaurants.

I have now been eating at Maurya for about 2 years on a regular basis, and I must say that this restraunt has not dropped its standards at all...in fact they have greatly improved.
I am very impressed with the new dishes that are always managing to creep up on the menu, and have particurlaly enjoyed the new panneer starter (sorry cannot remember the name!).
Every time it has been a splendid occassion, and is by far setting the standard for good food and portions in North London.
Maurya KEEP IT UP!!!

I used to frequent this restaurant, quite enjoyed it unitl one day when we visited with our American friend, we were asked to leave at 10.00pm as they needed the table for another group!! I was gobsmacked. I repeatedly ask the waiter why, and he insisted he was asked by the boss to do so. Our bill that night was just under £200.
This was 4 months ago and I have not visited the place and will never do so. I know several friends who will not go there after hearing about my experience.

Went there last night for my Dad's birthday...Excellent.
I have eaten in the Oberoi, Mumbai and I would say the food here is on par. We often go to Indian restaurants and would say that this restaurant is one of the best (for food) in the UK, and it is not central London prices.
For starters the Murg Tikka, Fish Tikka and Tandoori Lamb chops were beautifully flavoured and very tender.
The main course of Rogan Josh, Methi Murg, Fish, Dhal and Aloo Ravia very good accompanied by the Best Bread Basket and Roomali Roti you will find.
All in all highly recommended and I will be returning.

Came to Maurya Restraunt during the christmas period, and I must say it was one of the best dining experience's I have had in a long time. The waiters were very attentive and made sure that I was satisfied throughout the whole experience. The food was a bit spicy, but once I mentioned it to one of the waiters, the chef personally approached my party, and asked how spicy/mild we would like our food, in the friendliest of ways!
Look forward to coming back early on in the New Year.
KEEP IT UP

Love this restaurant. Its so upmarket for a traditional Guji restaurant (plastic formica tables in Sakonis and Jays! - hello?....I love the food there but sometimes I need luxury and better decor with my dosas!).
It has great service, a large menu, fab atmospere, decor and location. Most importantly great FOOD!. As for the other bad reviews I would say ignore them (no I am not related to the owner.....but seriously that non-indian guy who is complaining that the food is too spicy??.....go eat "so called indian food" from a supermarket)
Reasonable prices also (yes my fellow cheap guji's out there - its as cheap as Sakonis and Jays!).
In fact I am tempted to not sing its praises too much, beacause it may get too crowded and I may never get a table.
