We have eaten here several times and have always found the food superb. The flavours of all the dishes are different and cooked to perfection. The service is great and staff very helpful and friendly. The restaurant is always full of Indian patrons, a sure sign of an excellent Indian restaurant!

Used to live in Stanmore but moved out to a Hertfordshire village over a year ago. Have tried a number of Asian restaurants in the Berkhamsted and Tring area which in some cases are very expensive. Nothing has touched the quality and taste of food; the ambience and professionalism as had always been our experience with the Maurya. I cannot understand the negative comments made by some customers as the majority of clientele are of a well to do Asian background and who would not frequent such a restaurant if it were in any way of a poor standard. Have eaten in so called outstanding Asian restaurants in Southall but none come near to the dining experience at this restaurant. Will be eating there tomorrow evening and will make a comment if not up to standard.

Maurya was recommended to us so we thought we'd give it a try and boy was I impressed

Their mixed breads were identical miniature Naan's with a different herb on top.

The sag aloo tasted like a bowl of salt. After complaining, they produced another bowl with heavily microwaved potatoes.

Their 'chef special' was a large mound with a similar shape to a pine cone, with grated cheese on top and a red jam badly sprayed on the side for decoration.

And those were the better parts.

Sadly I think I'm a little spoilt having lived near Edgware and Tooting where there are some fantastic curry houses.

Excellent resturant and food. I have tried lots of different types of Indian cuisine and this is fantastic, special, hot, fresh, and tasty, very nice surroundings , outside does not do the inside justice, I have been visiting this resturant for 8 years and no other can match it.

Also very clean, you can eat off the floors :-)

One of the worst places to eat in the area. There are several better places to choose from.

Rude service, and the food was served cold and was pathetic.

Not a place to even try!
