We took a trip over to southall yesterday and by reading reviews about Madhus thought give it a go. to be honest i wish i hadn't. the service was fine, atmosphere ok but the food was rubbish and way overpriced. they use thigh meat in curries which is tasteless and the nan bread taste very doughy. main reason for going there was because my usual monday restaurant choice would of been regency over in queensbury opened there kitchen at 6:00 pm and another quality restaurant in willesden called kadiris are closed on mondays. so to be honest if you want a knock off indian meal at high price the go madhus on the other hand if you fancy some quality real indian cooking then take a trip to one of my other recommendations and trust me you will never go back to madhus.

Do not believe the bad revues that have been posted on here being cynical I think that maybe some of the other restaurants in Southall have been involved in these being posted!!!!!

We picked this place for me and my family to celebrate my 63rd birthday as a change to going to the Brilliant in Southall

When I read some of the reviews I was somewhat worried and when the eight of us arrived there the place was buzzing with two private functions going on

Did that matter to the staff noway they where fantastic and as for the size of the potions they were something else and the taste was unbelievable

The biggest compliment i can pay this place is on this evidence far superior to the Brilliant ( And I never thought I would find some where as good as there) and I even at the end of the evening asked if they could ask the chef to come out so we could thank him personally for a fantastic meal

On the marks out of 10 I would award the Madhu 9.25 which is.25 above what I would give the Brilliant ( the reason I will not give anywhere 10 out of 10 is that if I do find a better restaurant I have no leeway to give a higher mark)

I am surprised to see so may bad reveiws as everytime i have been to the restaurant or eaten their food at weddings it has always been very good. I do however feel that they are a little pricey.

The first time i went the lady that served us was very friendly and professional the last time we were served by a guy who did not come across as being genuinely friendly. Everytime we've gone to the restaurant we've always been sat upstairs. The place feels very small with lots of tables squeezed in which makes it lack atmosphere. With the amount of business they get and the money they make they really should consider a bigger place for their restaurant . Anyway for me the food so far has been good so will be going again!!.

I often go to Madhu's and i think the decor is really nice. For one thing, people don't stare at you which i have experienced in most restaurants in southall. Being british asian, i found the food good. It wasn't overly spicy and the staff were friendly. Sometimes the food is okay and other times, it's great!! I guess it depends on the what chef they have in. Overall, a pleasant experience!!!

I attended a wedding some weeks ago at the Grove and i have to say i have never come across such sub standard cuisine. The guests on my tables were mocking the quality of the food, passing their plates to the person sitting next to them, as if they were afraid to try any of the items placed in front of them. Had this been a low budget affrair i probably wouldnt have said anything. But i understand 'Madhus' is suppose to be a top catering company and this was a top venue. Forget the restuarant, next time i am invited to wedding, i will check who the caterers are and if it is Madhus i will probably decline.

Been here a few times over the last 3 years or so and have generally enjoyed the food. But the last two times that I have been here in the past 3 months, I wouldn't say that the experience has been that great.

I went with a party of eight last Saturday night to celebrate my sister's birthday. The waiter was being really stroppy with us all evening and didn't smile once. They rushed us with eating and when the food did come out it was of a very low quality. Our eight main course dishes - lamb, chicken and veg all tasted very similar and some of the chicken didn't taste like it was cooked properly.

We were then told to leave after we had been there for two hours and were still eating desserts, becuse a party of 20 were waiting for our table. This was somewhat annoying as we weren't told that the sitting was timed beforehand, upon booking or when we arrived. It meant that we had to rush the end of our dinner and quickly pay up. The waiter couldn't get us out of there fast enough! He was quite rude and certainly didn't give us the customer service that I would expect from somewhere like Madhus, that likes to portray itself as a brand with a reputation for excellent service!

All seven guests that I took with me were first timers to the restaurant and I felt extremely annoyed that I had recommended this restaurant to them all as it definitely didn't live up to expectations.

I don't feel we had a relaxed and fun experience and the quality of the food was definitely below par.

If this is to become the norm with Madhus then I don't think that i will be visiting again. It is ashame as this was a good indian restaurant that used to serve some good food. I think that the staff definitely needs retraining and the chef needs to pay more attention to the taste and quality of the dishes - so that they aren't all just brown mush that tastes the same!

This place is terrible, i had heard about it a few years back and finally got around to dining there! What a horrible mistake!

The place is very tacky, the staff think they own the place so act extremely arrogant!

The food was okish, food was on the oily side, to be honest my local indian is much better.

The food is well over priced for what it is, tiny portions for central london prices but without the expertise or service.

I get the impression this place has gone downhill over the last few years, my advice would be to try one of the other wonderful indian restaurants southall has to offer.

Dissappointed.
