What a shame... This place could be great, but it is let down by the appalling service. Food is good, but pretty pricey for pub fare. But the real issue with this restaurant/pub is the incredibly poor service. On Friday nights you have to wait 45 mins for cold starters and then another hour for mains... To make matters worse the barman tried to add about £40 of "extra drinks" to our bill. I asked to speak to the manager about the service and the extra charges on our bill, and he honestly could not have cared less. To start with one of the waiters claimed to be the manager, and said I was lying about how long the food took! Incredible!

Avoid this place - there are much better options in Putney, where the food is better and they treat their customers properly.

This pub changed hands a few years back and the transformation is quite outstanding. The beers, wine, cocktails, food and staff are of the highest order. If you could buy shares in this place it would be a wonderful investment. Always busy, they have even created a beach bar outside with cocktails and BBQ food on Thurs/Fri and the weekend, all situated in the afternoon/evening sunshine. The chef is two star trained and the bar manager used to be a sponsored flarer (top 10 in the world) This is a proper pub and you should make sure you try it!

I took four out-of-town guests here last night and was disappointed.

Cooking is at best average and service amateurish. Not remotely worth the prices charged.

I went there with a friend lately and I have to say I was very disappointed. The salad I returned because the it was old and the French cheese that came with it totally overripe. The partridge we had was not cooked through. I won´t go again that´s for sure.

Having come to Putney each of the last five summers, I was certain that we would never have a great place to eat......That's all changed now!!!

The Prince of Wales is worth every effort to visit. The food is consistently excellent and the service is on another level from almost all other pubs (or restaurants for that matter).

They are very proud of their sources for fresh produce as posted on a large board inside the dining room.

The pub is organized in such a manner that there is plenty of room for sharing a pint or two with some excellent bar food either outside or in the front area. The eating area is in the back which gives a very nice place to dine or have a comfortable conversation.

Excellent dishes are the grilled fish on a deconstructed Greek salad, baked mozarella starter and baked peaches.

Great wine list and of course my favorite....Black Sheep Ale from Yorkshire.

Dos Hermanos

Dos Hermanos

Tuesday, May 19, 2009 - It’s the elder sister of The Bull and Last in Highgate and the MO is roughly similar: a bunch of people with a lot of experience in the restaurant biz have got together, found some great ingredients, cook them with care and accuracy and serve them in a professional yet relaxed manner… A slab of Rump Cap was cooked pink and was nicely beefy although the unctuous Wild Garlic Butter slathered over the top stole the show. Triple cooked chips were crisp and crunchy and the real thing – they’re not always.
