Visited Buenos Aires last night for the first time, and was somewhat apprehensive given some poor reviews. I'm so glad we went ahead regardless!

Most incredible Steak Platter, cooked to absolute perfection with amazing Chimmichurri sauce on the side.

Wine list extensive and varied, with excellent selection at an affordable price. The Malbec we chose was simply divine, on its own, with the steak and with the chocolate cookies afterwards.

The real winner was the service though, Greeted and made to feel most welcome, table was ready, and the staff could not do enough. They were also more than happy to give us "doggy bag" as the steak platter was just too good to leave!

Will definitely be visiting again, and will be telling friends to visit too!

What is it about this establishment that leads the manager to think he can behave in such a ridiculous fashion? Is it the combination of red meat and red wine that make him think he can act the alpha-male and get away with it?

Upon arrival he made it entirely clear he wasn't interested in my wife and I being there. No smile, no welcome, no nothing. Our orders were greeted with indifference and almost disdain, whilst he was all too ready to bound to the door to heartily hug and greet his pals as they dropped by to say hi. Well done you, you must be very pleased with yourself.

At the end of the meal as he approached our table with the bill I offered my hand to accept, at which point he completely ignored me and instead handed it to my wife.

Excellent work. Grow up.

This restaurant was booked for Sunday Lunch ( special birthday treat) my relatives had eaten there once before and were in raptures over the Steaks, we were a bit skeptical, as some times my relatives go over board, however on this Ocassion, everything was how they had described their vist.

The Steaks, both Sirloin was Great, but the Rib Eye Steaks were something else,

And the deserts were also a bit special, Wine was fabulous, and we are now addicted to Argentinian Wine, you really must try the Desert Wine, par excellence.

Cost what Price a Good Meal, Great Food, Great Atmosphere, my advice Book Early to Avoid Disapointment, as when were there they were booking people for two hours on.

I hadn't eaten here before and was a bit skeptical because of some of the reviews of the service. However, I couldn't fault it - the waiters looked after us so well and were incredibly friendly and helpful. Both waiters gave great advice on the wine which was amazing and the food was to die for. We had the steak platter which I just couldn't fault. I was so happy! It was one of the most enjoyable evenings I have ever had; there is a reason the restaurant was full on a Monday night and that is the quality of the food and the brilliance of the staff. the only thing I might suggest is the restaurant was quite bright and could maybe do with some low lighting... But other than that, it was pretty much perfect!

I am surprised by the positive reviews of this restaurant as on my one and only visit there, I found the food average and the staff indifferent.

We had booked in advance, but it seemed the waiter who checked our reservation would rather have been elsewhere and once we were seated, there ensued a very loud and tense conversation between one of the waiters and the manager about what time the former needed to leave work that evening in order to get the last train into London.

The waitress who took our orders started off coolly but by the end of the evening was reasonably friendly and even smiled a bit, but I think because she appeared to be the only person doing any work (the aforementioned manager and waiter spent most of our visit eyeing people up in the street) it was probably more out of frustration and stress that she started off so distant.

The food was okay but nothing more: my gnocchi with tomato sauce tasted quite bland, bloke's prawns were nothing to write home about and our other companions said their meat dishes were alright but not special in any way.

Also, the tables were also very tightly packed together so we ended up elbowing one another by accident, it's not cheap and we were a bit taken aback when we told they needed the table back in 2 hours as this had not been indicated to me when I make the booking over the phone.

This place thinks it's very chic and sophisticated - it's not.

Every town has one of these quirky, friendly local restaurants that know what they're doing. I've been four or five times with friends and family and it never fails to please. From the home-made chorizos to the excellent steaks and roasted chicken. The steak platter is quite a challenge for two...

One particular visit my parents had their soup of the day - a simple vegetable soup - which for its simplicity was wonderful. We asked how it was made and the chef was kind enough to come out and chat to us as to how it was made.

The reviews below (all bar one toys-out-of-pram review) are testament to an excellent friendly local.
