Staff are friendly and there has always been a good atmosphere, would recommend to everybody.

Dissapointed!...We have been going to Acropolis for the last 3 years, and had always had a wonderful meal.....until now. We were keen to try it under its new name of Nicos, hoping to still enjoy the same quality of food. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The fishcake in mustard sauce starter was good, but my husbands lamb starter was tasteless.I often had the gorgeous pork with mash and a jus for my main, but it had been removed, so I tried the chicken kebab....served with....chips!! this was ok but nothing to write home about. My husbands lamb kleftiko came in a pot, and although the meat was well cooked, all he had with them, burried underneath was 3 tiny potatoes.....which seemed very bad value for money....not even a slice of carrot! The dessert menu was a little uninspiring (apart from the sorbet brulee which a friend tried and liked) I had the smallest panacotta in the world which was supposed to be in a plum compote...but was in fact in a pink water????

The service however was excellent and the place was busy, we were just so dissapointed as we had taken friends and felt let down by the 'new' menu. We usually come away thinking how wonderful the meal was and this time we came away thinking how ordinary and overpriced it was for what we had.

We have just made another booking for Christmas 2009.

Last year's Christmas was fabulous and the whole group had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the singer and getting up to dance. The food was hot on arrival and the desserts were to die for!

We were also there in the summer earlier this year for a hen party and again the staff were attentive and friendly.

Good value for money, wonderful food and great entertainment. Well done!!

This is a lovely restaurant which we have been to a few times now. They are really friendly and the food is quite well priced. Im surprised by the previous review to be honest. The set menu comes to something like £12 for 2 courses and £15 for 3. Good value I would say.

The menu has been different when I have been, the chicken on the spit is very nice and the starter of squid is some of the nicest I've eaten. You can't beat the chocolate dessert. Certainly one of the best restaurants in South London

I will start off by saying that I am the most easy going a unfussy eater possible. I appreciate the fact that someone else has cooked for me for a change! I have eaten in the Acropolis a few times now as it is close and convenient to where I live. It has always been just Ok, never anything that special. I went there last night and had the set menu that is available Tuesday to Friday. This menu has never changed. The only thing I hadn't tried (other than Moussaka, which I don't like) is the Beef Stifado. This was served in a casserole pot with a side of over cooked tasteless Greek pasta. The Stifado looked very unappealing cooked with a thick layer of cheddar cheese on top. The beef was overcooked, dry and very difficult to chew. I had a couple of mouthfuls and could not eat anymore. When the waiter came to collect my plate he asked if it was too much or if it was just not my thing. I said that I didn't like it and the waiter said I should have asked for something else. To be honest, after trying to eat the terrible Stifado I really couldn't face another thing. We just paid and then left without having a dessert which are usually excellent. I certainly won't be going back in a hurry.

I went with my family and I must say, do not get too drunk in there as you will get ripped off. The service charge is a joke and make sure they give you what you ordered. Good service though.
