Must say Rock and Rose looks overy pretty / very girlie but if you are going out for dinner and to have good food I would say give it a miss

It is a great shame that people in Richmond/London are more interested in the decor of a restaurant than the food itself. Very disappointing food. I go to a restaurant to enjoy my food more than anything else and not be overtaken by the decor!! And big quantities do not mean good food. Bad publicity for people who really enjoy good food and food cooked by using fresh ingredients. In my opinion, the name is misleading as there is no passion in cooking the food itself.

Went to this place on 29th Feb and I have to say we were very impressed. The food, decor and atmos was excellent. As an aperitif we had a couple of flirtinis and a glass of champagne while we were looking through the menu. The flirtinis were very good and not as sweet as I thought they would taste.

We had olives/bread and prawns for starter. There was a good serving of olives and around 10 slices of bread with olive oil and balmasic and the prawns consisted of 4 king size prawns which was filling and tasty. The only downside was having to shell the prawns.

For main course we had seabass, chicken and rib eye steak. The sea bass was superbly cooked and there were two fillets. The squid that came with it was very tasty and we did not need any side dishes to go with it as it came with asparagus and mushrooms. The chicken was huge and came with enough carrots to feed the whole table plus mash pototoes, well cooked and looked like a spitroast chicken. The steak was excellently cooked very tasy and came with fries and a bernaise sauce. All the food was well cooked and everyone was satisfied with what they ate.

For dessert we had a creme brulee and the cheese cake, both of which were well cooked, I am not a fan of creme brulee however it got good reviews. The cheesecake was a good serving and very tasty, however the highlight was the ice cream that came with the cheesecake, it was one of best I have ever tasted.

The only downside of this restaurant was the space between the tables, they were a little too close together and getting up and down from the table was a bit embarassing as my bum kept brushing the table next to me.

I would recommend this to anyone. I have not been anywhere that looks like this place, the waitresses were very good and managed to get the balance between seeing to your needs and not leaving you waiting spot on. The food was not the best I have ever tasted but was certainly in my top 10 (and I go out quite reguarly) . The cost for four of us (two starters, four main course, two desserts, 3 aperitifs, 3 bottles of water, mailibu and orange and a bottle of wine) was £150 which I thought was good value for money.

What a great idea.

The decor in this restaurant is beautiful.

It's been done before of course.

This is Lounge Lover in Shoreditch transported lock, stock and barrel to SW london.

Great idea.

Let hope it lives up to it's decor
