La Luna Restaurant? A great experience! I’ve been there for an important date and la luna's staff took care of us in a fantastic way: our table was in a such a romantic place, the food was the best italian food I have ever eaten, and the service… was great!

We had a romantic and funny dinner A comment? Simply fantastic! I would definitely recommend this to anyone, both to a couple of people or a group or a family.

Although I havent eaten here for a couple of years, having moved out of the area, I still regard this as one of the best Italian's I have visited and I miss it dearly!

The service, food and value for money is outstanding and I have never eaten a bad meal here in the 8 years or so that I have been visiting.

My fave was always Tagliatelli La Luna which was with a tomato and clam sauce. My fave starter was the baked eggs in bolognaise sauce (can also be as a main) and their mussels were always very good. The garlic breadf pizza (with or without cheese) was always amazing! Alcohol always at a good price and the deserts to die for.

The pizza would be prepared on the marble slab in the middle of the restaurant and the Volcanica pizza is very good.

I can recomend anyone to come here whether it is a lunch, meal out of special occasion, and if you are lucky you may even run into Frankie Fasier, as he is a local in the area and eats here quite a bit!

My partner and I have been going to La Luna regularly since we moved in the area and dine there two or three times a month.

It is a very pleasant restaurant, warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in.

The owners are very friendly and the service is simple but efficient.

But the reason we go there is the quality of the food at a very reasonable price.

There is a 3 course dinner menu at £11.50 with a choice of minestrone soup, baked eggs with tomato and mozzarella and another starter. You can choose any pizza or pasta from the a la carte menu and there's also a third main to choose from. Three puddings too, including banoffee pie and home-made tiramisu. Excellent value for money!

The a la carte menu is well balanced. My favourite starter has to be the fresh squids with rocket and white wine & garlic sauce. Fantastic, and so are the mussels! Last time we went I tried the duck with poccini mushrooms which melted in my mouth.

The wines are reasonably priced too, not an extensive list but very decent.

Definitely recommended as one of the best Italian restaurants in London, and at a price like this, a place we can go often to have a great meal.

I eat almost every day at lunch time at La Luna, as they do a very good lunch time deal (£4.99 for a set lunch & coffee) and I read the review of the person who wrote two times regarding the linguine vongole. This woman obviously does not understand italian food. This dish is mainly cooked with olive oil & white wine, it is the traditional way it is made. It is expected to be oily. This dish normally cost's £7.90!

As I was there at lunch time with my work colleague's, I noticed the woman finished the dish fully before complaining!

My colleague's and I found this customer's language shockingly rude, and we did not appreciate it at all, as I am sure neither did the manager.

The service is very good at La Luna, and the manager is a very genuine, polite person. The quality & presentation of the food is delightful, and the best in London.

I was impressed with this restaurant until I ordered the Linguine Vongole today. It was absolutely drowned in oil and basically inedible. When I complained the Manager was very rude and basically told me bad luck! How is that for customer service!? I now feel sick and will not be back.

I've regularly visited La Luna. Until recently, the staff have been helpful, and the food fine. I went today, the pasta was awful, dripping in oil and there were only about 3 clams with it. When we complained, the manager was very rude. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Wonderful! I eat there regularly, the food is always excellent but ordering anything but the calzone feels like a missed opportunity (meat or veg- they're amazing!); with home-made tiramisu to follow makes a very pleasant and affordable evening.

The surrounds aren't plush (it is walworth road), but the atmosphere is very warm and friendly. Interesting weekly specials (usually fish) but don't expect the seasonal vegetables to be anything more than standard carrots and brocolli. Yet still a very veggie friendly menu.

If you're in the area it's a crime to miss out!

It doesn't look like anything special, and the location is far from impressive, but don't be put off - this is the best Italian restaurant I know in inner London (and comfortably better than many in Italy).

The restaurant is furnished in a homely way and the service is friendly, informal and reasonably efficient. It has a very friendly proprietor and an intimate atmosphere that catches you slightly by surprise given its outer appearance.

It's an easy place to relax and concentrate your thoughts on the food. Which is good, because the food is absolutely superb. Generous portions, very tasty and prepared to a high standard. My favourites are the uova al forno (egg, mince, tomato and cheese baked) and linguine alle vongole veraci (linguine with clams and chilli). There are plenty of less exotic Italian staples there, and they cook excellent pizzas, pasta dishes and secondi piatti meat, fish and poultry dishes. Overall the menu is very well balanced and of high quality. To my admittedly rather carnivorous eye the menu looks quite vegetarian-friendly, and also offers very good fish dishes (which to my taste aren't often done right in the UK).

If they have a weak spot, it's desserts. I recommend the banoffee pie (which my girlfriend also loves), but I'm not really a dessert person. Concentrate your efforts on the starter and main course!

The wine list isn't extensive but it offers a selection of light pleasant wines that complement the food well. The house wines are, for once, really quite good. They also offer some "specials" that change occasionally. Both food and wine are very reasonably priced, especially when you consider how good they are (the food especially).

The length of the review probably says something about how much I like this place. If it were better known this would probably be considered one of the best quality and best value restaurants in London. I've eaten at several of the highest rated restaurants on this website, and La Luna can easily compare to them. As it is, the locals mostly have it to themselves!

It could be very easy to pass by this restauarant without noticing it as I did for months, but once discovered, I have been a regular visitor. They do an excellent lunch deal - 5 or 6 quid for a delicious pizza or pasta plus a wine/beer. They catered incredibly well for our work's xmas lunch. The staff (it is run by 2 lovely brothers) are friendly without being overbearing. This place is a real gem of a find - I couldn't recommend it highly enough!
