Found this resturant on the site and thought I would take the wife out for a special meal. We went upto London yesterday from Colchester. Had a walk round in the pouring rain and then decided it was time to have some food. Walked round Convent Garden, found the road, saw the lite up sign and thought, great, now for a good Greek meal. Got to the door and in the window was a note stating it had been closed down!!!!! I did try to call beforehand and always got an answer phone but just thought it might have been closed over the Christmas period. No such luck!!! Oh well atleast the trains were on time!!!

I don't understand the really bad reviews here. Ok, it's not the best food ever but it is very tasty and good value. I thought the service was very friendly if a little slow. I'd go again for an informal dinner with friends.

Went here for the first time on a Friday night after failing to find a table in two or three nearby restaurants we had been to before. Surprisingly this was the only place on the road that had tables available.
Décor was fine, staff were pleasant, starters took 45 mins to arrive and the main course a further 30 mins. The delay in being served was not just a problem for us our table as several other nearby customers complained they had been waiting.
I had a vile prawn starter that was cold enough for the garlic butter in which it was server to begin to congeal. The main course of moussaka was of school dinner quality.
The best part was that my partner had the garlic prawns as a main course. This involved about the same quantity of unfortunate prawns surrounded by roast potatoes.
You have got to laugh.

Last night 27 mar 09 was in covent garden having a meal at the pad. There was 4 of us and all fancied Greek, so it was nice to see this greek restaurant after strolling the streets for 30 mins. The service was fantastic, very polite waitresses, even after complaining that the starters had not even arrived after 30 mins, but it was very busy so this was acceptable. When the food arrived it was excellent, tasty and fresh. We also had to wait a little bit for the main course but again was excellent when it arrived. The table next to us had also complained about the delay and we told them it was worth the wait. They even complained that the musaca wasn't good, my friend had musaca and he thought that it was the best he has ever had. The bill came to £89 (4 of us) we had loads to eat and loads to drink, so wasnt at all expensive.
Would go again.

My daughter was keen to take me to "The Pad" she had visited it previously with her friends they are 18 and impressionable. We went one lunchtime and there was only two other diners in there, we were just going to have a drink so we were served quickly - the prices of the drink were ridiculous, 3 drinks( two wines and a Pims) come to £14 pounds and the glasses of wine were less than the 175ml, which I had to mention! My daughter was keen to go for dinner in the evening (I didn't want to) so we went and it was the most awful place I had ever eaten at, infact if I was starving and this was the only place to eat I would rather stick pins in my eyes or something. The food was vile! Yuk! Never again. It might help if they employed a Chef who could cook rather than opening packets! Gordon Ramsey should have this on "Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares!" A must I think!

Just got back fron The Pad with my partner for Valentine's Day Dinner. Well, we went in after a short stroll in Covent Garden before heading for the Theatre. While the decor of the restaurant overall is nicely done, that appears to be the only thing that they manage to get right.
Our Starters were ok! Maybe because they did not have to cook it, namely (Houmous with pitta bread & Bruschetta). After, waiting for 50mins I could not help thinking that at last there is a chef in london that cooks freshly - FINALLY the main course arrived. we have forgotten the name of one, However, just as well. I had the Grilled Pork Chop with Chips. While the meat was cooked It was tasting awful and burnt. My partners' meal was supposed to be pork cooked in some wine sauce with rice. However, the meat was totally dry, over cooked, and cold. I complained to the older guy who appears to be the manager. He was very unhelpful. After, paying £18.50 for the cokes, coffee and starters we had;upon leaving he waved us out in a very rude manner. We will never return!
