I went for supper here last month on a Saturday evening and I can safely say that it was one of the most disastrous meals I have ever had. The service was atrocious and although my dining partner and I only ordered fish&chips as a main with no starter, 5 tables around us were all served first. Despite raising our concerns with the waitress and the manager on 3 occasions, we waited over an hour to get our main meal! Also, the ladies toilets were manky and despite informing the waiting staff, they were left unclean!!
I will not go to this restaurant ever again!

Just been for lunch at The Wharf on Southbank, have to say, fantastic service, great location, not overpriced and the team even allowed me to try a new special of calamari. Cant wait to go back in the summer

I can't begin to express how much we absolutely enjoyed the food at the Wharf. The service was so excellent we forgave them straight away for running out of the lamb and the fresh halibut. Delicious food at a very reasonable price. Lovely way to end a perfect day at the Southbank. Will most definitely go again.

Are we talking about the same place here?!
We've been to The Wharf twice in the past three months and had the most amazing time on both occasions (in this case Valentine's Day and Mother's Day). Food was fantastic - my husband's beef starter and my chocolate parfait were particularly notable.
We were made to feel incredibly welcome from the outset, and the staff were the right side of attentive without being on top of us. On the first trip, there was even a jazz band playing in the bar which set the tone perfectly for a relaxing Sunday brunch.
On both occasions we had a set lunch with 2 or 3 courses and all in both presented excellent value for money given the standard of cuisine and the location, which is truly gorgeous, even with the rain on Valentine's Day.

I went to The Wharf in Teddington last night with my partner as a special birthday treat and came away £90 lighter and very disappointed. On arrival we had high hopes that this would be a special experience - a riverside location and a welcome by the Head Waiter who swept us over to our table quickly. Unfortunately, that was the only service we received for the whole evening. Our mutual opinion was that we felt invisible and the service at the table was appalling for the rest of the evening (after the awful meal we sat looking at our used plates for 15 minutes with staff passing by us throughout this time ignoring us).
We both ordered steak (at £18.50 each) and were expecting a gastronomic meal well presented. What we received was a mediocre steak (granted fairly well cooked), thrown onto a plate with undercooked chips that tasted of old oil, a grilled tomato and the most revolting sauce in a bowl that I can't even guess what it was supposed to be.
We then decided to call it a night and leave. We headed to the local pub, where quite frankly we should have eaten. We would have had the same meal better cooked and presented at a fraction of the price. Never again.

Had a great meal here on Saturday and the service was excellent.
We both selected from the daily menu and were very pleased with the pea soup and terriyaki chicken. Service was very friendly and efficient.
We weren't sure on the wine to go with the meal so the barman gave us tastings of three different wines.
The setting is good and was a perfect lunch stop on our walk from Richmond.
Although the bill was £60 per head, this included lots of drinks and we thought was money well spent.

A recent family meal at the wharf was not a pleasant experience. Service was appalling, bordering on non existent, and the menu misleading. My lobster and scallop main was missing the lobster. The waiter informed me that the few small shrimp like pieces were the lobster...

Couldn't agree more. The ONLY thing going for the Wharf is the location, which many people seem to be completely blinded to. I had Sunday lunch there a few weeks ago at a cost of £80 a head and would have had better food and much better service in the local pub for an awful lot less.
