Fino Restaurant and Bar
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
reading all the rewiews i was a bit confuse when i went to fino and fine the food to be really good and the service was spot on
most of the critic complaint about the price i didnt found it to be execive
if you want langoustine and fresh scalops you have to pay the price i suppose
as i always say if you cant afford it dont complaint to be too expensive just stick to your budget(navarro down the road also very good for regular cheap tapas)
will be back there for more

Starting with a delightfully cold sherry, we moved on to the cod dish which was divine. Really very good. Some of the other dishes didn't seem to merit the price tag, quite a mark up on several slices of Manchego cheese for example. Same can be said of the chorizo and plum tomato dish which majored on the tomatoes and was far too highly priced for what it was. That said, the service was discreet and efficient and if you are going there for lunch and need to move things along, then I think it's a great choice. For a basement venue, it's mercifully well air-conditioned and the tables are well spaced out so we were unaware of other diners throughout the meal.

When I walked into the place I instantly hated it. I hated the other clientelle (young euro-weenies) I hated the staff (unhelpful and self satisfied) and I hated the decor (dreary "fashionable" retro 60's biege and brown). Then I saw the menu and hated it even more - it was so overpriced.
But the food was fantastic - really good. The menu is extensive and varied so much so we had no idea where to start. So we asked our waitress to put together a selection for us (boy, was I glad I wasn't paying!). Dish after dish of really delicious food followed - scallops that melted in your mouth, deep fried baby squid, tortilla, serrano ham, lomo, chorizo and tomato, seafood salad, ensalata verde, some delicious breadcrumbed balls I can't remember the name of (!), pimientos padron, gambas. It was all gorgeous. The wine list is extensive - we had a couple of bottles of white Rueda which was lovely, and a couple of bottles of red Rioja which was corked (watch for this with all spanish wines).
Astonishly the bill only came to £50 a head (there were seven of us)- having seen the menu I would have expected it to be a lot more. For what we had it seemed good value. But would I go back? No.

Upon entry the restaurant strikes you as being sleek, cool and modern.
The food it tapas the pleasant waiter suggested how many plates of food would be suitable for 4 gentlemen (18 actually.)
The wine service was a little slow, but the food service was fantastic, with later courses being served within reasonable amounts of time, and avoiding over crowding on the table.
All the dishes served were exquisite, and the food really is second to none, with probably the best tiger prawns I've ever experienced.
The restaurant is pricey, but the food and service are worth every penny!
Highly recommended, and an excellent choice of sherries.

This place needs to seriously up its game if it is to justify the mad prices for basic tapas, albeit with quite good quality ingredients. You have to wonder just how much actual cooking is going on with simple grills and assembled salads forming the mainstay of the menue. The wine is OK but comes in at a minimum of 23 ish quid a bottle for a basic Navarre. Generally the place looks swish (standard mod. minimal) though the gents could do with an overhall. Customer service is very directed towards table management (sittings, in / out on time etc) and didn't make a big contribution to the experience. The food?: well, its OK but has been done many, many times elsewhere and in all fairness, should you really be able to pour the middle out of a tortilla? I don't think so.

I was impressed with the ambience and decor of the place although it was very empty for a Saturday lunchtime.
Overall we were hugely disappointed with the value and the food itself. One waiter told us to order between 9 and 12 dishes for the three of us (this was lunch not dinner) and when we ordered about 9 the waiter taking the order was commenting that it would be too much!!!
Communication required between the staff I think! As it was the amount of food was adequate but not generous. Some portions were tiny.
The price then for a bit of fish, two tiny quails, some vegetable tortillas, salad, mash, chips and peppers, plus two beers, was over £80.
I would not recommend this restaurant at all. I am sure there are a number of much better Tapas places around which will be half the cost.

Went to Fino last week to entertain a business client. The Reception girl was quite pleasant considering we were late for our reservation and the restaurant was busy. Waiters I must say were not attentive and from a customer point of view looked very disorganised as I hardly saw the same server twice. The sommelier was the saving grace offering recommendations on wine and food and his selection of our entire meal was superb and well paired. The kitchen did a great job too as all the dishes were well presented and quite memorable. I was very impressed...just work on the customer care factor a bit for the complete package.

I've been to Fino a few times, and each time the food has been top quality - think miles and miles beyond your standard tapas - and the service good. It's not cheap, maybe £50 a head with a good bottle of wine and a glass of sherry from a reasonably priced list with lots of good riojas. And the cooking is great. Too many good dishes to list -the black squid ink risotto is particularly fine unless you're on a hot date. The pork belly and the lamb fillet. Even the tortilla. You can't really go wrong, and you can sit at the bar and watch it all being cooked too. I don't go back to restaurants unless they're good, and I go back to Fino. Quite often, thinking about it.

Unwelcoming and dubious accounting, this over priced restaurant has goodish food and great wine, but may make its money by turning over customers as fast as it can in the early part of the evening. Sometimes to no good effect. For example, in our recent visit we were told at entry that our table was booked from 8.30 pm for the next customers. But at 7.30 we were subjected to aggressive table clearing, clearly designed to move us out – this was a table for two that would have taken about 2 minutes to clear and clean and reset. When we pressed staff on this they backed off but later resumed the hovering. When our bill arrived it included a discretionary 12.5 per cent service charge, which we declined to pay. However it transpired that there were no arrangements for declining to pay the discretionary service charge and we were later told that our card details had probably been entered twice. Of course they would do their best to deal with it but, but, but …! So, we now have to wait to check our credit card bill. Altogether an unpleasant experience. Think carefully about going there.

I was taken by my brother for the first time last night. We had a glass of excellent sherry in the bar and the waiter was an excellent guide. The Albarino we drank with the food was fabulous. The manchego, pimento, cold meats and squid starters were lovely and the pork main course was delightful. Beautiful, fresh food and great service. Shame about the amount of smokers in there but soon they will be gone!
