Bugis Street Brasserie

The staff especially the manager was pretty rude. They don't make an effort to be welcoming.
The food was not that fantastic. It actualy tasted of nothing but chilli and pepper. The Kangkong Blacan had no taste of Blacan but just chilli. Basically the food does not meet the expectation we had and the portions are small.
The only positive thing i could say is that the price is cheap.

We were down in London for a few days doing the usual tourist things & staying at the Millenium Glouster, so decided to the Bugis Street Brasserie.
The food was simply fabulous and the service was excellent.
The restaraunt isn't the most ostentatious in terms of furnishing, but I prefer one where things are simple and uncluttered.
I had Taiwanese Chicken Hot Pot which is the nicest Asian dish I have ever tasted, whilst my wife had Lemongrass Chicken which was also excellent.
We're definitely going to be going again next time we're down.

I visted this place a couple of times and I must say, it is quite authentic and has all the standard Singapore specialities. Most of the dishes tasted great and quite close to the real thing. The satay however, cannot beat how it is cooked (barbequeued in the open) in Singapore/Malaysia, but otherwise, I highly recommend it if you like cuisine from that part of the world. The interior decor also resembles a mock local 'coffeeshop'.

My Wife and I recentley ate here as we were staying at the Millenium Gloucester Hotel. I have to stay that we were very impressed. We find a chinese/cantonese restaurant wherever we travel to and this is up there with the best for quality of food. Okay the surroundings are not glamorous (no table cloths) but everything else makes up for this.

I have eaten in Singapore, KL and Penang, and Bugis Street Brasserie is 'as good as the real thing'. And Sunday buffets are great, too. I am a 'regular', because it's the best Malaysian food in London!!!

I am a Singaporean and I think the food is very average. Go for it if are you absolutely dying for something from Singapore/Malaysia, can't be bother to cook and will settle for anything. If you want the real taste of Singapore, you will be better off with pre-mix sauces from Chinese supermarkets.
