We ate there yesterday with a voucher, the staff were superb and couldn't have been any better. We could not complain about anything and some said they took the service charge from the whole bill not the discounted one, but they didn't with us. A very good experience and would recommend it to anyone.

My wife and i tried this restaurant nov 2011. Reading the reviews i was expecting to be disappointed but it just shows how wrong these reviews can be. Admittedly we went on a special offer night which helped from a value point of view but putting all this aside we were absolutely delighted with everything. ambience, staff and quality of food could not have been better. We were given a table with plenty of room, the staff were very polite and efficient and our food was cooked as requested. Would we use it again? Yes we would. Advice to anyone else would be try it yourself and make your own mind up. Most enjoyable and look forward to returning.

I was very dubioius going to this restaurant after reading the reviews. However, I had already putrchased my buy a gift voucher so thought it worth a try.
All the other reviews on this page couldnt be further than the truth. you would have to be an extreme snob to pick holes in this place, and give a 1 out of 10 review for tiny nothings. The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff were polite and extrememly professional, and we were never left waiting for anything. we got treated just like everyone else there!
Although we did have a limited menu as we were buyagift customers, there was still plenty of choice and the menu would cater for everyones choice. we had the slow roased pork belly for starter, and it was totally out of this world!!!!!! the main course was equally as excellent, and we savoured every last mouth full! for pudding we had sticky toffee pudding, and we both agreed that we had never tasted anyhting close to this. the meal was the best ive ever had, and I will DEFINATELY go back here without a doubt!
Just to note that we did have to pay extra for side dishes to accompany our main at £3.25 each, and had to pay a small service charge at the end. but with our £49 voucher and paying an extra £13 on top, we felt this was excellent value and would have paid more for the exeperience. Could not fault it!!

Shockingly bad service - waiters were rude, lazy and not interested at all in serving customers and could barely speak english. The manager was no where to be seen despite it being quite busy and all round catastrophe was occuring in the restaurant. Twice was the a giant loud crash where a waiter had slipped, dropped all the plates up/down the stairs, tables were left with rotting food the entire evening. The only thing I saw the manager do in the entire 2.5 hours we were there (yes, 2.5 hours for 2 courses) was greet customers at the door and say goodbye as we left. The food was slow and not event that great - they took so long to take out dessert order after our main that they had "run out" of the dessert we'd wanted (eton mess). We complained to the waiter and all he could do was offer us some drinks or tea that we did not want. For the record the Manager still did not bother to do or say anything despite our complaints and it took forever for them to get the card machine for us to pay. I help run my own family restaurant and I would be completely appalled at the way this business is being run. They did not even attempt to compensate us in anyway or the other tables around us that did complain too! I would have been happy to accept a discount or an invitation to come again another night to prove that this was not the norm but in the end nothing. Restaurants are all about food and service - you need both to be great but this one certainly has neither - definitely would NOT recommend.

My husband and I had a really lovely lunch here yesterday.
The service was superb, Jason the manager was everything a restaurant manager should be.
Food was excellent, especially the steak and chips as a side -delicious! Portions well sized, piping hot, well timed and beautifully presented.
A clean, warm and welcoming restaurant that we will definitely be returning to another time.

We went there last Friday and had a very pleasant evening. The staff knew we had a Groupon offer but we were treated just like the other customers. We were welcomed nicely and able to sit at the table of our choice. The champagne cocktail was very good, the ribeye steak was excellent and the desserts were delicious. There was no pressure on us to buy expensive wine . The waiting staff were very friendly. When the bill arrived it had the optional service which was on the groupon price plus a bowl of french fries (not on the a la carte price menu) as another reviewer apparently had. All in all, a good evening, wish I'd bought more Groupon vouchers now (and another bowl of those french fries, very moreish).

I had a meal here with my girlfriend using the groupon voucher. I think if Marco Pierre White had ever eaten here he would not put his name to it. It was dreadful. The service was terrible. We were shown to our table by someone who couldn't speak english. We were then brought 2 champagne cocktails, these were disgusting. My girlfriend politely asked the waiter what he would recommend; the gammon or the poussin, to which he replied "pork and chicken"! hmmmm thanks for that. She settled on the gammon (which turned out to be the only reasonably good thing about the meal, although at £16.50 a la carte with no side dishes is extortionate). I had the rib-eye steak (usually £22.50) it was worse than steaks I have had at average pubs and also came with no side dishes. Those were an extra 3.50 each (for a tiny bowl of salad). The puddings were equally as bad, the "eton mess" I had literally contained not a single piece of meringue, it was a glass of whipped cream with maybe 3 raspberries squashed in it. The cambridge burnt cream was fractionally better. To think the value of this meal was nearly 80 pounds is utterly disgraceful. Everything was poor; the service, food, drinks, atmosphere. All terrible. I will never be returning again and will tell anyone who is considering going to not waste their time or money on an awful restaurant with a celebrity name to attract customers.

I wrote to this restuarant following my recent visit:
"Having just been asked to complete a customer survey for my visit a few days ago, I was prompted to contact you directly. The food my party of four had was good and in terms of the quality of the eating and drinking experience I certainly had little to complain about. However, I thought it would be worth you being aware of my party's displeasure regarding the supercilious nature of the head waiter. To be sneered at when asking a perfectly polite question about the "burned cream" was unacceptable. Sadly, his superiority did not extend to his waiting skills as he then cleared our plates before one of our party had finished. It is unfortunate that potentially such a good experience can be tarnished in this way. I was looking for a good alternative to my usual haunt, the Cheyne Walk Brasserie. It seems I shall have to continue my search."
Unbelievably, i have had no response from the at all. I choose not to go to restuarants that care so little for their customers.

I read the other reviews on this site with trepidation. I too had booked with the Groupon voucher and wondered what was in store. When I called to let them know that we were running late, and no-one picked up the phone, I had my doubts.
But then the restaurant actually called me back, and were perfectly ok with us being delayed. When we arrived, I wondered how we would be treated as we presented the Groupon voucher, but again no problem at all. We were shown to the upstairs mezzanine level, which seemed to be filled with other Groupon customers too.
The food was good, I had the steak medium-rare and it was cooked exactly as ordered. Service was ok, the staff were friendly but seemed a little nervous and quite new.
And on the subject of the bread - there are no baskets any more! The bread was served on plates and was fine.
So overall, this was much better than I expected. It wasn't outstanding but very reasonable for the price.

Worst restaurant I have ever been to!
Myself and my partner went to the restaurant last night with a Groupon voucher and like other reviews we were made to feel cheap! Maybe they should consider that if Groupon customers are treated well and enjoy the meal they will return.
The place was dirty and had no atmosphere. The food was terrible and would not eat their again if it was free!
For steak go to Big Easy a few doors down- Cheaper, Cleaner, friendly and the steak and Lobster is to die for!
