St Christopher's Inn

We ate here today (1st January) and, whilst the food was great, the service was truly awful.

The soup listed as the special was lentil, but when it arrived it was chicken and mushroom and my friend had to wait for the kitchen to cook something else whilst the rest of us ate.

The staff were constantly fussing around the table, the ales were off and had to be sent back, pints of beer when they arrived were only about four fifths full and a drink mysteriously appeared on our bill which none of us had consumed.

The food was very good though!

I am 45 years old and have eaten in a lot of places both here and afar - some good, some bad - but I am glad to say this came up on the high side of good. The food is good value for money in my opinion. Could not fault on food. Well worth a visit, beer was cold, glasses were clean and overall a great afternoon there. Staff were friendly and helpful.

On arriving at St Christopher's Inn I was a bit alarmed at the plasma screens and crowds huddled by the bar but, once our party was seated and despite the slow (but friendly) service, we were very pleasantly surprised. There was a lively atmosphere and nice gastro pub fare in huge portions. A good venue for a relaxed meal with friends.
