Some of my colleagues and I went here the other day for lunch. Now I am no Korean expert - having my tastebuds only slowly acclimatising to the taste - but the food was really delicious - especially the pork dish. The spicy squid salad, was, at is said on the box, spicy. The decor was nothing special, but sometime that is a good thing. It means someone is concentrating more on the food. The food came out quickly, so this is perfect for an extended lunch. The bill came out to a little over £10 each for one dish each, a non-alcholic drink and service. Will go again when we are feeling like we need a treat.

It looks a bit plain on the outside but don't let that fool you. I have eaten here twice and it's simply excellent for food and wonderful for service. Try it. You'll like it.
The lady owner has a computer like memory too. She remembered us and what we ate (& liked) on our last visit!

I love korean food (because I am a korean) but even myself it is hard to find a restaurant that can truely bring out the 'home taste'
newseoul was a small restaurant with cosy atmosphere.
I originally wanted to order 'dolsot bibibab' but ended up ordering bulgogi,'kanpungi'(marinated chicken thingibob) and defryed prawn.(lotes of choices!)
although I prefer to cook bulgogi at the table apparently you have to order more than 3 portions in order to do that(you prob have to bring your friends ). Bulgogi was well marinated and taste as fab as it suppose to be, kanpungi was also nice but I wud have prefered it softer and prawns were just perfect!
generally i really enjoyed a meal there and will definantly come back!

Fantastic. I'd never tried Korean cuisine before, thinking it was just smelly kimchi; the meal was fantastic.
I highly recommend the barbecue squid, chicken and beef. Worth every penny, I look forward to returning.
And the toilet paper is equally enjoyable!!

Having seen other positive reviews I took my wife here on a Saturday night. We were amazed that the restaurant was not busy and I ordered Bulgogi while my wife ordered a seafood dish served in a hotpot. Unfortunately the Bulgogi did not taste marinaded, just beef served on a sizzling plate with some onions. Worse than this, they cooked a totally different dish to what my wife ordered! This was rectified, but the dish was not worth the wait.
We won't be coming back. This is a shame as the location is good for us.

Delicious food and plenty of it. Staff are friendly (and helpful if you haven't had Korean food before). Nice chilled out ambience and surroundings, would definitely return. Highly recommended.

We arrived at 6:20 and there were already a few people there. The restaurant is quite small so if you go on a Friday - as we did - I would recommend reserving a table.
The menu is unusually short for a Korean restaurant. Fewer dishes on the menu generally means more dishes well cooked. Things augured well.
We ordered Chianti. Unfortunately the wine we ordered was not the wine we got. It was Chianti but a far cheaper vintage, but at the same price as the better one on the menu. After some embarrassing discussion on both sides, we accepted the ‘lower grade’ Chianti. Unfortunately, that set the tone for the rest of the evening.
The service, however, throughout the meal was polite and attentive.
We ordered Pajeon, which was excellent and is recommended. The fried fish was also very good. The mandu in clear soup was okay. The soup of chilli tofu was under-powered. The bulgogi was cooked in the kitchen. We were very disappointed at that, because having bulgogi grilled at the table is one of the reasons you go to a Korean restaurant. And the meat was disappointing!
At one stage in the meal we had everything we had ordered on the table at the same time. Although I know this is very 'Korean', we would have liked a break in the meal.
As we were leaving, people were waiting at the bar. So the restaurant is very popular.
The bill came to £53 for 2, which was good value
Overall, some competent cooking, but a disappointing dining experience.

There are a few Korean places in central London these days, but New Seoul beats them all. Two dishes (not including kimchi, which is superb here by the way) are simple enough to act as a barometer of quality - Dwenjang Jjigae (soybean paste soup)and dolsotbibimbap (rice, beef and vegetables in a hot stone bowl) - and here both are nearly perfect. I have been searching for the perfect dolsot since i lived in korea, and the New Seoul's is better than 90% of those i ate in South Korea. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and fast service - please please try thsi place first.

Being Korean born and having lived in Seoul a few years back, New Seoul is one of my favourite restaurants in London and a great find for value and quality.
I need to make regular visits to satiate my Korean cravings. The food tastes authentic (the closest to my Mother's home-cooking) and the service is unusually friendly and professional for London standards. The restaurant itself is small, so better to book a table if the group is large as it fills quickly, but the cosy atmosphere only adds to it's intimate authenticity.
Definitely worth a visit if you like Korean food.
