Had Thai Chicken Green Curry , which was sickly sweet and heavy. One of the worst green curries I've ever had.

The restaurant fit out is really very nice, however as others have mentioned it still lacks atmosphere. It was almost deserted. The food is no different to any other asian restaurant you would find elsewhere, serving food for less money.
The wines are average. The first glass of wine that I had was corked and the glass was full of sediment. The wait staff didn't seem to (or didn't want to) understand this, so the glass still appeared on the bill. The optional 15% gratuity was also included without my consent in the bill and the final bill amount was typed in incorrectly (in the restaurants favour!). To fix the incorrect credit card billing seemed a huge process for a couple of pounds, so I did not bother.
Although I had a nice night catching up with friends I had not seen for a long time. I would not recommend the Pacific Oriental.

The restaurant looks very impressive and stylish and the decor is glamorous - but for some reason they've often got football or rugby showing on several giant tv screens in the restaurant.
i can see they are desperately trying to lure in business from the city gents having after work drinks in the area - but it doesn't appeal to me as a diner.
