Vistied Little Sardegna last night. What a fantastic evening - great food, fantastic wine selection and great staff (real characters - especially the Chef!). Loved it! Hope to visit again soon!

We've visited this friendly restaurant quite a few times since its opening as it's very local, and we are very fond of its other stable restaurants in the area, and have always been impressed by the food. They have enlarged the cover area and enhanced the ambience considerably . You very much get the feeling of eating in a local Italian/Sardinian restaurant not least by the steady stream of Italians visiting, so you know it must be good! Their menu is filled with Sardinian staples - pasta and gnocci but look to the specials on the wall blackboards for the real treats - pumpkin tortelloni with pistachios, sage and butter sauce and a spicy soft sausage - a perfect combination; linguine with chilli and crab. The starters are classic and occasionally inspired - the swordfish carpaccio is a favourite of ours. The cheeses ( smoked ricotta, blue cheese and pecorino) are served with the most delicious homemade chilli jam and honey. There's a great selection of classic Italian wines but try the Sardinian wines - the Cannonau grapes dominate - soft full fragrant wines - I'm talking red of course- are wonderful. Prices are a good ranging from £16 upwards.- but if you can make the leap to £32 I would highly recommend the Simmaco Isola dei Nuraghi 2005 - we had a second bottle...

We went for dinner here last Friday night and were both very impressed with the quality of the food, the wine and the services. The staff were lovely and made excellent recommendations from the food and wine menu.

There was a lovely ambiance in the restaurant and a good mix of people.

I would definitely recommend this place and cant wait to go back

fantastic weekend lunch (one of many in recent months). superb food turned out of small kitchen, consistently good every time we visit. very nice wine list which feels very good value for the quality. generally not particularly busy when we have visited but very relaxed atmosphere, aided by the enteraining selection of music chosen by the staff. very happy to provide small portions for our 16 month old daughter who enjoys interacting with the staff and watching the action on the street outside. best local restaurant for quality Italian food (not pizza) in a relaxed, homely atmosphere.

I went to this restaurant last night for my sister's birthday. It was a Monday night and we had the restaurant to ourselves. The waitress and the chef were very accommodating and at no point did we feel rushed, being the only customers. However, the ambience was slightly lacking with the main lights on, even though candles had been lit at each table.

We chose starters of mixed meats and cheese which were fresh and delicious. Upon ordering my main, I enquired about the papardelle with black truffle. Upon hearing this the chef emerged from the kitchen with a pot of truffles for the whole table to inspect!

The main courses were all excellent; home-made pasta and vibrant flavours. The tiramasu to finish the meal was possibly the best I'd ever had.

After ordering the bill, the waitress then brough us a complementary limoncella which was delicious and we left happy and determined to return.

This is exactly what you are looking for when you are searching for a great local restaurant. Fantastic fresh food and great characters cooking and serving it.

I have become a solid regular. The food is always good and the wine too.

It is a gem. Recommended.

The best little local italian there is in this area. The place has real character, great staff and fantastic food at very reasonable places. it's small but that is part of its charm. We keep going back and have taken all of our visiting friends & family there because it is so consistently good. You should try it too!

what the bloggers say

Dos Hermanos

Dos Hermanos

Sunday, July 19, 2009 - Slices of good quality Salami, Cotto and other cured meats were mercifully served at room temperature - the only way to truly appreciate cured meats. There was some soft and mild ricotta-like cheese drizzled with honey and strips of a harder variety akin to Manchego Again not the prettiest plateful but generous and tasty...I really liked HS's Lorighittas, a handmade semolina based pasta shaped liked little plaits. They'd been cooked and combined with some small sweet clams and cherry tomatoes and the whole covered with shavings of Bottarga. An elegant and delicious combo which I enjoyed finishing.
