Old fashioned Italian. It was busy on the Saturday night we were there and staff were thin on the ground. The bread was very poor. Calamari was sadly the rubbery rings in indifferent batter variety .There was a long gap between starter and main course and then the pizza one of us ordered was burnt on the base and it looked unappetising. I won't be returning.

Numero Uno is absolutely lovely. I moved to Tooting Bec over 12 months ago and finding such a lovely restaurant locally was fantastic. The food is lovely, the staff are extremely friendly and it is reasonably priced.

During the week, I have a lot of friends staying with me who are working in London and we always pop round for our dinner as it's cheaper to do that than go to Sainsburys and buy all the ingredients.

They also do a takeaway menu which is a bonus. The portion size is massive and the price is approx £6.95 for a pasta dish - you could easily share one if you get a garlic bread too.

Highly recommended!

I think Numero Uno in Tooting Bec is one of the best Italian restaurant in the area. Being Italian I'm very fussy with Italian food and I have to say that I have never been disappointed here. Worth it a try are Spaghetti alle Vongole and Risotti ai frutti di mare.
