A very nice restaurant, and one that does a good cheaper lunch menu. I've been there for both dinner and lunch and had excellent food, the service isn't always amazing but I've had far worse in London.

I would say it's slightly more expensive that the others on Abbeville road however, the £25 price tag above isn't really accurate in my experience. It's just about possible to have two courses for that much each, but if you're having three courses and wine you're looking at £80+ for two, a figure that could easily reach £100 without getting the most expensive wine on the menu.

Overall, good quality, quite traditional, French food - when I had scallops there they were swimming in butter, it was gorgeous but I had to sit very quietly for a while afterwards because everything had been so rich!

We took a couple of friends here on Sunday 18th May for lunch. The service was awful - one waiter to serve the whole resturant - it took us 2 hours to get our mains after ordering. The food was good and had been freshly cooked so it was all a huge mystery. We should have complained earlier but we were chatting so didn't.

We had been three times in the evening and had great service. We will not be returning. What a shame - yet another bad place to eat on Abbeville Road.

At last a restaurant that serves tons of fish and seafood, decent but not ridiculously priced wine list, and chocolate mousse with high cocoa content.

This new restaurant opened just before Christmas and is a gem on Abbeville Road (where I sometimes work). It's smart, with lovely food for every appetite (big/small, fish/meat/veg, etc) at all times of day. It's one of those places where you can sit outside and gently watch the world go by on the sunny afternoon terrace with a really good coffee or well-chosen House Red (the French know their wines) with a crepes bananes or flambe; or have a full evening meal with crisp linen tables and choose what artwork to buy from their display (just changed artists to Paul Andre's colourful abstractions - I'm an art fan).

It's the 2nd Le Chardon - the original's in Dulwich with the same extensive menu. The presentation's good and I particularly like the mussel hidden in the yellow rice. My friend chose Steak Tartare, but I like fish best and there's plenty of seafood to choose from in the starters and mains. Another time I went for Sunday Roast, which was pretty massive and much needed after a late night the night before and missed breakfast.

It's a really good local, open from 9 til way after 11 sometimes every day. Don't think I'll ever get bored of this one.
