La Pernella

My whole family is Italian, including myself and this is one of the nicest restaurants in London we have come across. The service may not be top notch but the atmosphere is cosy and homely, exactly what you'd get in Italy. The food is really good and the pizza's are huge. Good value for money and great tasting food what more could you want.

Garrett Lane on it's best. The service in the restaurant is great. The quality of the food is what you find in the best typical Italian restaurant. You can get pizza, pasta or specials of the day,either way, it won't cost you a lot of money.Customers are always put first, and made feel at home. I can happily recommend.

Ahhh, people just expect different things when they go out, and that's fine. If you like feeling like you've slipped into an Italian family gathering, where nothing is too formal and you always leave feeling too full, then La Pernella is the place for you.

This is probably my favourite place in London to go for a relaxed meal - and who would have thought the plastic tablecloth haven that is the breakfast cafe would transform into a romantic cosy restaurant at night?! You certainly don't get top grade service, so if that's something you feel you need to make your restaurant experience complete, then I guess this isn't the perfect choice. I've had to wait 3/4 of an hour for the bill before because staff were playing with a friend's child from a neighbouring table, but I don't mind these things because it reinforces to me how family oriented and laid back this place is. The staff are certainly never rude and indeed some of them are very personable and funny.

The food is amazing and cheap. La Pernella special pizza is particularly good. We usually get a bottle of wine, starters and mains for 40 quid max (for 2) and we leave feeling incredibly full (and a bit squiffy) every time.

Can't recommend this place enough. It's a lovely spot provided you know what to expect.

i disagree as we have been coming to la pernella for years,but unfortuantely i have found the service to be very poor. i would ask that managerment train their staff on how to wait tables correctly. A waiter should know how to conduct themselves in the processing of aiding an enjoyable evening for their customers. FOR EXAMPLE bringing parmesan cheese when serving PASTA , being attentive to the needsof each individuals needs. PLEASE,PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE PLATES WHILE OTHERS ON THE TABLE ARE STILL EATING. IT IS MOST RUDE AND MOST UPSETTING AND I DO NOT BELIVE THE ITALIAN THING TO DO

One of the best pizzas I have ever tasted - truly delicious. Starter was very tasty as well. Good atmosphere, reasonable prices. Go just for the pizza though!!

Went here over the weekend and came away feeling full and happy! Great food, simple but pretty damn tasty. Hilarious but friendly staff. If you're in the area then it's definitely worth going to although I wouldn't travel out of my way to go here.

Great selection on the menu and the food is pretty good as well. The slow service and smoking by the other diners did ruin an otherwise lovely evening out.

I practically live here - the VERY BEST pizza i have ever had (and this includes Italy), amazing main courses, great service delivered by young staff and all at completely fair prices... It gets very busy especially at weekends, when it is worth booking.
