If you are thinking of eating at this restaurant, please think again!

I booked a table for a relatives surprise 30th birthday 3 weeks ago & I have spent the last 2 days trying to contact someone to confirm booking. I finally managed to get through by avoiding using the options as no one ever answers but the voicemail...that no one listens or responds to!

I was told that someone will be in contact tomorrow or Thus to confirm booking by taking a deposit. Paying this is not a problem but why they choose to wait until 48 hrs before is beyond me, why not take at time of booking!?! I find it unacceptable that I now have to ask people for money at such a late stage when I could have organised this weeks ago. So I asked what the deposit is per person, again I am told to wait until tomorrow/Thurs as it needs to be worked out...bare in mind the person I am speaking to is the Owner! He then proceeds to tell me that they will confirm 'if' they even have room to accomodate us when I am contacted. In other words after 3 weeks they could tell me 2 days before that they have no tables. I find this terrible customer service...and yes I did tell him that so he decides to cancel my booking anyway and hang up. I dont think I have received such bad customer service anywhere.

I have actually eaten in this restaurant twice before May '11 and Nov'11 when appareantly it was under a different Management. But even then it was not great customer service, we waited half an hour at a time for drinks but you only have a 2 hour seating. Food was not hot at all...more like luke warm. The atmosphere is actually good but thats down the company I was with. You can go anywhere and have a good time if the company is right. I really should have learned from my last 2 experiences there and although under new management looks like they are even worse. Shame to say I will not be eating or recommending this restaurant.

After reading about this restaurant in the local paper I decided to visit and my fiance travelled from Leicester to have dinner here.

From the outside the place looks welcomming but once inside the place is like a cattlemarket with disintereted staff and cheap looking food with virtually no varitey.

In fact the place was nothing like the one advertised in the local paper. I was shocked by a leaflet stating that no child under the age of 10 who was taller than 1.5 meters was allowed on the meal deal and duly wrote to the restaurant to complain. no one can choose their height and I considered this to be discrimination.

I received no response and sent a chase up letter which also received no response.

Customer service? What customer service.

Appalling and this restaurant should be fined under trades descriptions acts!

I would never go there again.

Both myself and my partner were really looking forward to going to Kitchin N1 and we severely disappointed. The extensive menu on the website is false advertising, there was very little choice available. The sushi was appalling - do not even bother picking it up.

The Indian cuisine was very yummy and in my opinion the restaurant should stick to one cuisine only.

I cannot fault the service we received - the staff were polite and attentive.

I would not recommend visiting this restaurant and I will not be going back.

I am extremely disappointed with the service that I received from this restaurant. The way that the staff spoke to me was totally unacceptable considering that I travelled from Manchester to see my family and do something nice. I would not be going back to this restaurant again in the near or immediate future. I would not recommend it to anyone unless they want to experience a poor customer service.

Just been to Kitchin n1 for a friends birthday and was not so keen seeing some of the reviews on here - but i have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

The staff were attentive and they even sang happy birthday to my friend.

the food was good quality and can't go wrong for the amount on offer for the price in Central London.. Definitely will return

After initially looking forward to eating at Kitchen N1 I'm afraid to say that I was incredibly dissapointed. The extensive menu they feature on their website was not there at the buffet. The salmon was burnt and crispy, the noodles were undercooked, the sweet and sour sauce was more like water. The sushi which eventually arrived was in such a small portion we felt bad for taking more than a couple of pieces.

We complained whilst we were at the restaurant and it was not taken seriously and so emailed the company afterwards with them claiming they would get back to us within 24 hours, this was not the case and within the last 2 weeks have been hung up on by them twice as well as being told that there is nothing they can do.

I unfortunately would not recommend this buffet.

Just been today, booked the table for 15 ppl for 6.45pm but because of traffic was runing late did call to inform them when got there 20 min late the manager delt with us very rudely asking us that have to leave at 9pm even though the place was more then half empty. staff had no smile on there face at all, food was the worse i had in my life not many choice, no taste. They need to learn from jimmy spice how to run a place Like this. i my self had a restaurant not as big as kitchin but i can proudly say they could of learned some manners from my staff. when we were leaving the place had only 10 other customer left, i didn't understand what was all this rush about, as they were not even busy. i know we were late but didn't ask for extra time and i made a 40miles journey to get there. What a waste of my time and money. i would not recommend this place to anyone.

I've walked past Kitchin a number of times on the way home, it looked fairly decent from the outside and it boasted to be serving some of my favourite foods - such as, Thailand, Italy, China and India food.

Unfortunately the food Kitchin offers in short is absolutely terrible. King's Cross is full of take aways and eats places offering a range from okay to absolutely awful, Kitchin is arguably the worst of the bunch. Don't be taken it by the nice shop front they have (as I was) inside the food is of the lowest quality I've eaten in the city or anywhere else to add.

I usually don't review places unless they're really good or really bad, this one certainly falls into the latter category without a shadow of a doubt. The price is a total rip off considering you're fed some of the lowest quality food you can purchase at a restaurant, I know buffets have a reputation for being of low quality but this place certainly. I have nothing good to say about the place, even the beer I had there was rather short of a pint, was warm and flat too.

Absolutely ghastly dishes on offer, all of considerably poor quality and taste. I'm going to check the reviews before eat out again. My strong advice to people considering eating there is seriously think again unless they want to eat a load cheap rubbish that could be bought for couple of quid at a market stand.

Dreadful. Food selection very limited, clearly made on a budget and in many cases mislabelled. Starters were freezer food from a supermarket. Desserts were a bit weird, again very limited and cheap (best thing was the ice cream machine). Service was ok, but long wait for drinks and the beer seemed to be from a can (warm, under a pint). Paying up front as you enter the restaurant? Classy. Avoid this place like the plague!
