I have been going here for number of years and never had a bad meal. the waiters have changed but each time the waiters have always been friendly and make you feel very welcome. even when they are busy they have time for you.

Wonderful ambience, fantastic food and really great super attentive staff. We came here for a birthday lunch and were pleased to discover that all the great reviews this place has received are thoroughly well deserved!

we went to this restaurant for my sons 21st on 18th feb it was simply amazing the food was the best quality food and the staff more than helpful. We had a cake made and served it was the most special of evenings so thank everyone who helped.

The steak was cooked to perfection and the mussels were divine.

The staff sang to my son happy birthday nothing was too much trouble .

we will definately be returning and not just for special occasions

thank you and well done to The Vineyard

although the staff were not rude they certainly were not very polite.Food was good but two of the dishes were wrong the starter- large mediterranean prawns (cold) came up as warm ordinary prawns. The salmon en croute came up as salmon and prawns, and to top it all we had to share an ice bucket with the next table.

we will not be eating here again.

I have to say that I am amazed by the good reviews this restaurant receives for it's food. Personally, I think the standard of the food is incredibly poor. You do get a lot of it if that's what you want but the quality and standard of cooking is terrible.

I had a starter of Potted Shrimps that weren't potted shrimps at all. They were the type of frozen shrimp, that you can buy in any freezer department, swimming in a terrine of salty fish stock, accompanied by toasted pre-sliced bread. All for £7.95

For main course I chose Beef Burgundy which I was expecting to be a nice, slow-cooked beef dish with good quality meat. Instead I received a plate of small pieces of steak chopped up and covered in a thick dark sauce that completely obliterated the taste of the meat. £18.95 I think, and it was nothing like any Beef Burgundy dish I have ever experienced before.

Vegetables are of the frozen variety. Desserts, on a trolley, are also from frozen.

My only good comment are that all the staff are attentive and friendly and appear to be trying to do a good job.

The prices in this restaurant are extortionate compared to the standard of the food being served. Main courses can be as much as £25 for fish, and these are comparable prices with some London restaurants that would be considered high end. The guest in our party who ordered sea bass was a bit taken aback to see it absolutely swimming in butter when it arrived at the table.

If you like good quality food I would suggest going somewhere else.

Went to the Vineyard last Friday and had a fantastic meal. Staff were friendly and food was delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The portions are overly generous... surely that cannot be a problem to those of us who like to treat ourselves when we dine out! The staff are always attentive and humorous and the service adds to the dining experience. Thank you to all at The Vineyard x

We visited The Vineyard last Friday night... a belated Christmas Works Do. The restaurant was busy and the atmosphere was great. Pre dinner drinks went down merrily just like it was indeed still the festive season. Then we had a truly fabulous meal... everyone thought the food was great. I personally had the scallops wrapped in bacon to start, and the carpet bagger steak off the days specials menu (steak stuffed with mushrooms and topped with an oyster... de-lici-ous)! Food and service was perfect... big hearty portions, great taste, excellent service served as ever with a touch of humor unique to The Vineyard. All polished off with desert, coffee and an after dinner drink at the bar. The only thing missing was the party hats and bad jokes... and if you ask me there best left in December. Many thanks to all at The Vineyard - looking forward to dining with you again soon;)

Waiter was very abrupt and inattentive. Starter and main course were acceptable. Vegetables were served onto our sideplates by leaning and dropping the vegetables rather than silver served. No desert trolley just some bought in pre-frozen desserts from Brake Bros. Then the cheeky sods automatically add 10% of the bill on as a tip no matter what. We queried this and was told if was compulsory and then to add insult to injury as we didnt have the correct money the waiter didnt even come back with our change. When we asked for it he said he didnt have any! £51 for a terrible meal and £9 tip for appauling service!!!!! NO THANKS
