Me and my partner ate here last night and the food was amazing, service was outstanding, everything about it was spot on. We got complimentary cake as it was our anniversary. Would reccomend to anyone and for quality of food i think price was reasonable.

Both branches of Hawksmoor and Goodman are so popular these days that eating a decent steak on a Thursday night is now something that needs to be planned a month ahead. At least that's the case if there are more than 4 of you in a group.
Looking around for an alternative, I was reminded of Maze Grill - once the darling of the steak joints in London, if I remember correctly, but off the radar since the arrival of its newer rivals.
I ordered an Aberdeen Angus ribeye. It was a tasty, high quality piece of beef, with good flavour, and cooked well to my order. However, if I’m going to spend nearly £30 on a piece of meat, I want it to be approximately the size of my head. I want to be eating it for so long that I feel borderline unwell. Goodman and Hawksmoor make me sick - in a good way, you understand. At Maze, I could have started all over again.
The sides were amusingly bad value, as befits a London steak joint. One and half tablespoons of spinach, maybe two at a stretch, with some melted gruyere for £4? By any measure, that's outrageous. Three portabello mushrooms? Tomato salad? All four quid.
My chips were poor too: blonde in colour, undercooked and accompanied by insipid aioli, which was borderline inedible.
In short, the steak was good, but too small, and the sides were rubbish. I’d choose Hawksmoor or Goodman over Maze every time, but it looks like London has worked that out already...

The Emperor's new clothes. Think about it - even if you don't think he's a foul mouthed self publicist who would be better served concentrating on why he became famous in the first place, why would you go to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant for a steak ?
Poor piece of meat served cold and rare not medium rare . Burger King's fries are tastier and less dripping in fat. Spectacularly over priced . I was with Americans with big expense accounts and was embarrassed at what a poor steak experience this was. We should have taken them to Gaucho which does this so much better . If you are into the Ramsay brand or get turned on by eating expensively in Mayfair this is for you. Otherwise, steer clear.
Staff and service were excellent .

Went to Maze Grill for my birthday. I must say it was one of the best meals I have had. I had Terrine of confit duck, ham hock and foie gras, expensive bet very very nice. My g/f have sweetcorn soup to start, Iv'e never tasted sweetcorn like it, its was delicious!! I had New York strip steak at £35 (market price) with Creamy Stilton sauce, the waiter shows you all the meats available and tells you the price. very very nice and worth the money. The sides are expensive though £4 each. I had mash and Portobello mushrooms. The mash was to die for!! Had a chocolate brownie for desert. also nice. Overall the bill was £176. Expensive yes, but the wine was £37, and the service charge at the end boosts it up. We got a tour of the kitchen and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend.

Had lunch on the weekend, 3 courses for £24 which seemed to be good value.
We both had the pheasant, in each case needed a chainsaw to cut through the food. Puddings were very disappointing as well.
I like the decor and the vibe however service needs to be improved.
A very disappointing experience, would not go back. (Perhaps thats why they need to do special offers)

I went here yesterday for my birthday with my boyfriend and we had a lovely lunch. The light dishes we had to start were perfect (clams with bacon and cheese sauce + mini crab cakes with a chilli dipping sauce) and at £6 each were good value and a cheaper option than the starters for £13 each! For main courses we both went for steak. He went for rib eye and I went for sirloin. My steak wasn't piping hot and was slightly overseasoned, but was still good overall. They came nicely presented on a wooden board with the knives poking out of the boards and with half a bulb of roasted garlic on the side. Sides such as chips and veg and sauces were extra, so overall it is a pretty pricey deal when compared with other notable steak houses in London. The service was generally good, but could have been better. I would definitely recommend it for a special occasion, but am not sure if I would go back.

My husband and I went to London on 23th of September, celebrating our anniversary. We had planned to eat at Maze Grill, and it was the best meal I have ever had. Everything was perfect. The starters, main course and the Strawberry Sundae - uhm. I will definitely come back next year. Try it...

We visited the Maze Grill on Sunday 5th Sept 2010
My husband booked the meal as a treat for me .
The staff were very efficient and very attentive our glasses never went empty.
We had a giggle as the steaks were explained to us as to what cuts they were and where they came from ( i never heard a word i just listened to the guys voice explaining in his foreign accent!) My chosen steak was cooked beautifully and all the extra's were very good. Onion rings especially
Hubby had the fruit crumble for desert and said it was the best he had had!
The night was topped off when Gordon and his family came in for dinner and as i looked up he looked at me and said "hello".
We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant and the food and wine were excellent
We would recommend the restaurant and will definately visit when we are next in London.

I recently ate at Maze Grill during a family holiday. I am from Australia and am a big fan of Gordon Ramsay and his TV shows. We decided to go to Maze Grill as the menu looked the most appealing to us out of all of Ramsay's restaurants.
Upon arrival we were greeted by very welcoming staff. Once seated we were offered drinks and entrees. There was not a time during the night that our glasses were allowed to go empty, the wait staff ensured that everything was always comfortable and that our glasses were never empty.
Shortly after ordering our main meals the man himself (Gordon Ramsay) walked in to the restaurant to have father's day dinner with his family. Hs presence turned an already fantastic experience in to an unforgettable one!
Our food was cooked perfectly and the portions were perfect! Would highly recommend to anyone!
