A few days ago,I hosted a lunch for 12 old friends at Greigs. We were impressed by the premises; we were given a private, panelled room, so we were able to keep ourselves to ourselves! We were also impressed by the speed and friendliness of the service and the quality of the food.We chose from the £17.95 fixed price menu, which included in the main courses a mixed grill, steak and fish. We chose the house wines which were most acceptable. We agreed that it was a very pleasant experience which offered good value for money, particularly considering that Greigs is in the heart of Mayfair. We expected to pay rather more than we did.

I am shortly hosting another lunch at Greigs for another group of old friends. I am looking forward to it.

I had to organise a meal for 10 people in a private dining room last Saturday. I found this place and was really pleased with it. The private dining room was just the ticket for our 10 people and the food was very good. We all had the steak and I can honestly say, it was one of the best steaks I have had in central London. The wine was nice too.

The staff were friendly and attentive and actually joined in the evening later on!

It was a really good evening and it was really helped by using this as the venue!

Very poor experience when we had been expecting a good quality Mayfair restaurant.

There is very limited choice to start with, 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts.

When the food arrives it is very poor and at best pub quality. I had the Sea Bass which was undercooked, soggy and overly salted.

The music is provided by 1 CD which goes round and round so we heard the same tracks 4 times. Can they get an ipod?

If you book the private dining area you can hear the chefs in the kitchen quite clearly, especially when they are arguing.

The white wine was not chilled properly and was nothing special.

I don't usually write online reviews, however i felt compelled to write one about this place. I had the worst night at this restaurant , the service was terrible, the staff had serious attitude issues, the food was mediocre at best and to top the night off, i was directly insulted by the host. This is the worst establishment I've been too in a long long time. An absolute joke of a restaurant. I would recommend people go somewhere with a little more class and a friendlier atmosphere.

I organised a friend's surprise 30th birthday dinner here recently and from the moment I had initiated communication on email to the minute I was leaving the restaurant, I had been presented with the best customer service and experience.

The Main Room was used as a private dining room for our party of 27 and the tables were impeccably laid out with quality linens and tableware. Subtle, classy music was played in the background and the well dressed staff and amazing maitre'd were around to serve us efficiently and always with a warm smile. Every request that I had was met with enthusiasm.

Food - Now usually I am quite fussy with food and the menu is usually the main reason for my choice of restaurant. However on this occasion, I was looking for a somewhere to go with our James Bond theme and Greig's stunning decor was the biggest reason why I had chosen the venue without really looking at the menu. I would say fairly that the food is nice although not life changing. Do not come here if you are after Heston style food. Greig's menu is simple and comfortable. I was very full and did not finish my main of steak. Grieg's also kindly gave our party a discount of 25% off our set menu which we appreciated.

If I were to have any complaints at all I'd mention that one diner's steak was rare when he had asked for well done and a waiter forgot to bring a drinks menu when I asked for one and just little things like that. To be honest, these are not things I'd bother to complain about as I understand the party was busy and the waiting staff were doing everything they can to help otherwise! I would recommend for people to try Greig's for themselves =)

We had the use of the Oak Room for a private dinner.

While waiting for all of the attendees to tune up we had pre dinner drinks at the bar. Initial service was excellent.

We then moved into the Oak Room for dinner, where the table was immaculately turned out. A quick request and the piped music was turned off. Orders were take, staff were polite helpful and courteous and they remained so throughout the evening.

Menus are best described as old fashioned British - what you see is what you get! The steaks and mixed grills went down extrememly well, helped along by several reasonably priced bottles of claret. This is not a restaurant for those looking for nouveau cuisine or cutting edge presentation or bizarre food combos.

It is a good old fashioned steak house with great service, good food and reasonable pricing, particularly when compared to some neighbouring eateries.

We will be back!

We had high expectations of Greig's Grill, and they were all met and exceeded!

The greeters and front of house were excellent, the maitre'd (Emiliano) quickly found us a table and seats and was always around yet unobtrusive,

I have to say the food was impecable at every course and we were able to appreciate taste and texture with everything we ate!

The selection of wines was great, we chose a Sauvignon Blanc from South-West France, which was a delight.

If I had two things to point out (note not complaining here) was that the service was very quick - the courses were swift to arrive to say the least, and the premium is high.

We will definately be going back in the near future!

Had a really enjoyable pre-theatre dinner with the family at Greig’s. We’d seen mixed reviews online but decided to judge for ourselves whether the restaurant lives up to its claim of the ‘best steaks in London’. We all ended up opting for steak and chips which was great - generous portions, simply cooked and the meat was clearly great quality. My dessert of chocolate mousse finished off the meal perfectly, it was lovely although very rich! The service was excellent, very professional and attentive and the surroundings were just what you’d expect of a classic Mayfair restaurant without the usual hefty price tag! The only downside I can think of is that it is a little bit tucked away down a side street but now we know it’s there, we’ll definitely be visiting again!

I have to honestly say that I RARELY ever write reviews - However this restaurant was truly so shocking that I felt I had to write something - with the hope that the owners somehow read this and improve their food IMMEDIATELY.

I visited this restaurant last month with my partner - I loved the surroundings and the service was excellent - I truly couldn’t fault that however what they class as "steak" is really the most wet, bland, and tasteless piece of steak I have ever had. It was actually vile and I couldn’t believe I was sitting in a Mayfair restaurant eating that kind of food. I wouldn’t even class it as pub food - it was MUCH worse and I am just so shocked that not more people are saying the same thing.

Luckily - I have a Taste of London card which meant I received a 50% discount on the meal - honestly - If I had to pay full price I would have walked out.

It was like eating something out of a bin that had been there for days. Greigs - start living up to your hype - you know the whole Mayfair thing - and start cooking some decent edible food!!!!

Also, if you are looking for somewhere with atmosphere - this isnt the place to go !
